Its incredible to think back to that 2017 draft and remember it was a decision between Nolan Patrick and Nico Hischier for #1 while Makar (and to a lesser extent Pettersson) was there

I don't understand the dislike for Keefe and wanting every coach that comes available.

Maybe the voice in the room has to change every so often, but if you were asked the question if the roster construction or the coaching was the issue, what would you answer?

I don't think that Cassidy was an issue at all, but I could see some major roster turnover in Boston.

I was about to say why people think this is a team that needs a coaching change right now, and that is nothing against Cassidy and Trotz.

Just seems like a move that is more likely to blow up in our faces than to yield any noteworthy results.

Patrick was the most talented, but he had injuries which just never subsided. He was my number one.

It was a pretty bad draft in general though.

I read somewhere that the flyers scouts wanted Makar really bad and hextall said no we are taking Patrick

Trotz did it in Washington and made Islanders look much better than their talent.

Is there any chance Patrick even becomes a NHL player?

Swear to God I was screaming at the time that it was a dman draft all the way and couldn't understand how the hell Patrick and Hischier were the most hyped. Hell, pettersson was clearly more impressive even on draft day not even hindsight.

Very, very early on, and I mean back in 2015 and 2016, the two big dogs in the 2017 draft were projected to be Nolan Patrick and Timothy Liljegren.

And why can't Keefe do it? Why are we only giving him one full year as a HC here? What has he done to warrant getting fired?

And what happens if Cassidy and Trotz don't want to come here? After all, look at how impatient we were with Keefe, and that was a guy we invested a ton of time in. Are we going to fire Trotz and Cassidy after a year or two if they can't get out of the first round themselves? Do they want that kind of pressure and uncertainty? If those guys don't want to come here, are we happy with the other options?

Patrick is already an NHLer. He just can't stay healthy and it seriously hurt his development.

Hedman lifted his stick, but he didn’t force it into his own neck. Just because Kerfoot didn’t have complete control over his stick doesn’t mean he had no control over his stick.

He literally picked it up and road it into his face. I’m not saying it’s intentional. But it’s kinda silly.

At what point do you “lose control of your stick”. A larger stronger person could in theory absolutely force a stick into a penalty.

That’s why it’s dumb. It’s more of a point of theory rather than an excuse. They got beat. It was close.

Don't like Kassian but you see what he did there?

He forced Avs to panic. Our players never forecheck like that

Mikayehev, Engvall, Spezza, Blackwell just coast. Play it so safe
