CBC was kicked to the curb a while ago.

Most of the HNIC talent moved to SN full time around 2016, who now produces HNIC.

I know. SN airs HNIC on CBC who gets to promote its shows for free and Ron McLean is the holdover from the CBC era even as a SN employee. I’d like to see CBC completely out of the picture along w Ron McLean.

Yup, Ron's best before date was long before even Don Cherry's. And I didn't care for the way he threw Cherry under the bus as he was getting punted.

McLean lords over the show as if people tune in to watch him. Once the intermission hits I change the channel to another game. Watching Cassie, Ron and Kelly every intermission makes me want to puke.

can definitely see the referee influences in him

McLean is part of the Dinosaur Club that run the league. The same cult that insists there be 2 rule books, one for the regular season and one for playoffs that removes the skill from the game.

McLean can’t be kicked to the curb fast enough as he has undue influence on the game and he knows it.

I wish there were only two rule books. Many different books depending on which teams are playing.

8 figures in US$? Anyone know what the biggest yearly contract over there is? Didn’t think it was anywhere close to that.

No idea. A few years ago, Kovalchuk and Datsyuk were the highest paid players, making $5.5 and $4.5 million USD respectively, but the revealed salaries notably didn't include bonuses. There's now a salary cap in the KHL, so the highest salaries are now approximately $1.5 million USD, but as before, bonuses aren't reported.

Anyone else getting sick and tired of Robin Lehner? I get the mental illness issues but whining about being underpaid to the media when your agent negotiated the deal and you signed the deal is exactly that - whining.

Same with the Covid protocols he whined about. He didn’t have to play.

Just one more reason to dislike Vegas and their entitled pack of whiny stars.

He was about to become a UFA before he signed his last deal. Had the choice of where he wanted to go. He chose security, like he mentioned at the time. And now he’s questioning why other guys get paid more? Maybe he should ask his agent or honestly ask himself that question. Like pretty much everything with regards to Vegas, the bloom is off the rose.
