My wife who barely follows hockey was incensed at the officiating and what Tampa are allowed to get away with. Gouge somebodies face, OK, how many times?

Sneaky punches, butt ending people in the face, checks that are 3 secs late not called. Amazing Tampa has to cheat so much on the ice, and be granted that, after cheating at cap.

Damn clear to everybody the NHL just wanted Tampa to repeat. If you cheer for that kind of shit welcome to it. Watch WWE if you want contrived champs.
The only way I’d cheer for Montreal winning the Cup is if they were playing Toronto, Calgary or Vancouver. There’s nothing more to it than that.

I just started something ugly didn't I? ;)

Not as ugly as Canadian hockey franchises. Maybe more teams need a bit of Tampa's "if we suck nobody's gonna show up" fire under their ass instead of knowing they're gonna sell all those season tickets either way.

Islands in the stream.
A league of their own. They have a very good chance at repeating next year with a weak Eastern Conference.

I was going to say cap trouble but there isn't such a thing in Florida. Different accounting goes on there. Watch the Panthers get a SC Win sometime too. Gotta grow down south hockey where people won't even care about it in 10yrs.

lol at the Tampa crowd. Never seen so many teenagers at a SC game 7. "Hey Josh should we got to the cinema plex or see a SC win for our 20 bucks.." Maybe they got rich dads or something..

This is literally one of the few series I predicted correctly this year... Good run by Montreal but they just didn't have the star power to match Tampa.

Not for me. I’d rather have some non traditional market win it and have it be out of the news cycle within weeks than have Montreal or some other Canadian team besides us win it and have it be mentioned everywhere for months, possibly years.

Nah. Been disgusted since Tampa won in 2004 and a place called Carolina got the holy grail in 2006.

Funniest thing is they bring the SC out on the ice and you just know that most of these people couldn't identify it in a witness line. The Conn Smythe got such a big cheer I don't think they know the difference. Should have given it to Price to freak out the home crowd. "Whats happening, he took our cup"?

Bettman NHL vision is the worst. Selling out soul of hockey for a buck. Good luck when the Canadian pipeline of hockey players slows to a trickle as its now been a drought long enough that no Canadian player playing in one of these has ever seen their home team win a cup. Think about it.

Some kid from Oshawa: Oh I was just so pumped when Tampa and Florida won the cup for 7 seasons that I just had to be a pro hockey player. Yeah, like as if.

Wait, you were actually disgusted at Tampa beating Calgary in 2004?!

Ugly and boring hockey but Tampa was the best team and I think that in a regular 82 game season they would still have won.

Well, Oilers have a chance to close the gap with the elite teams starting on Friday. It will be interesting to see what Holland can put together.

He'll try to swing some sort of deal involving Kosko but chances are he will be on the "waivers for the purposes of buyout" list before the first window closes.

I was so disgusted I didn't even watch. I wanted a meteor to fall on both clubs right in the arena game 7 and have the cup not awarded on the basis of no remaining players.. I would say a plane crash but thats hitting below the belt...;)

didn't think I had an answer hey....heh

Unfortunately one of them had to win, and I’m glad it wasn’t Calgary. Same logic applies to this year for me.

I'll give you Calgary. Truth be told I was cheering for Tampa in 2004. I'm a story teller..I still feel dirty
Gotcha! ;)

There are levels to this. In order of teams I least want to see win the Cup:

Calgary
Toronto
Vancouver
Montreal
Winnipeg
Ottawa

Vegas

Carolina
Tampa
Arizona

Almost all other American teams
