They'll dump Tyler Johnson to one of the bottom feeders, that alone clears up 5 million.
He cleared waivers last time. And they shopped him but no one bit.

Maybe they’ll get rid of him this time, but they need to get rid of two other sizeable contracts in addition to that.

Again, Tampa will find a way. They don't need their top picks, they can attach a few to some of their bad contracts to make them vanish.

Who are their bad contracts besides Johnson? Their sizeable contacts are all actual important players.

Tampa drafts better than anybody in the league, by a HUGE amount. Some random dude named Ross Colton scored the Stanley Cup winning goal. They'll lose their UFAs and probably two of Johnson/Killorn/Palat then will fill that void with some random 4th-7th rounder because that's what they do. Their core is still in their prime as well. They aren't going anywhere anytime soon, unfortunately.

With that said, I don't feel like they've been truly tested in these two Cup runs. Pretty easy path, both years.

Hopefully we are in on the Killorn sweepstakes.

They have a lot of voids to fill though.

Killorn, Palat, Goodrow, Coleman.

Agreed on Killorn, I see him as a great fit on the McDavid line and he's signed fairly cheap for two more years so he could be an ideal Holloway stopgap. Brings that Cup pedigree and leadership that Holland is looking for too so hopefully it cools him on Keith as he pursues Killorn.

Looking forward to the buyout window opening. The Oilers should be one of the busiest teams in this respect.

Congrats to Tampa but once again you knew they were going to get help from officiating. Not even 3mins in and Tampa gets their first PP on a questionable call. A minute later an official keeps the puck in for Tampa. (this happened 3 times keeping puck in Montreal zone after an officials skate kept puck in. I mean bad enough to be shorthanded, you don't need a 6 on 4.

Then in third period Anderson hauled down in a one goal game. could have been a penalty shot but bizarre NHL doesn't even call a penalty. I mean this is the new threshold if you're a team other than Tampa. Get hauled down, no call.

Also a headlock on Caufield, highstick on Toffoli, two highsticks on Perry, nothing called.

I mean Tampa can do anything.

Pissed me off though Montreal in third setting up a breakaway and the referree stops the puck from advancing. The Hab was home free. 4 times officials touched puck. Everytime favoring Tampa. 3 non legit puck drops that also favored Tampa. Small things make a difference in a 1-0 game.

Meh, Oilers had this happen to us so much, a lot of it when we faced Montreal too. I have zero sympathy for them.

Yea it's hilarious to me seeing Habs fans and Habs bandwagoners suddenly up in arms over the officiating.

The officiating is the only reason Montreal got where they got. Live by the sword die by the sword, I guess.

Draisaitl got a penalty for body checking one of them. f*** em.

Well you're happy that Tampa Bay won. Which is fairly obscene. I mean Bettman hologram likes it, not may other people. 50 yrs from now Bettman Hologram (they have to work on that audio, its not synced) will be handing the cup off to more down south wonders. Houston Hockeys. Come on Down. Dixie D. Come on down. More obscure names for the SC.

Time for another league.

I’m happy that Montreal lost, there’s a difference.

I guarantee you that the Houston Hockeys will draft better than every Canadian team.

My wife who barely follows hockey was incensed at the officiating and what Tampa are allowed to get away with. Gouge somebodies face, OK, how many times?

Sneaky punches, butt ending people in the face, checks that are 3 secs late not called. Amazing Tampa has to cheat so much on the ice, and be granted that, after cheating at cap.

Damn clear to everybody the NHL just wanted Tampa to repeat. If you cheer for that kind of shit welcome to it. Watch WWE if you want contrived champs.

I want officials to have to be post game interviewed. Have to answer to the game they called on the ice.

Anderson breakaway, hauled down, no call, no penalty shot, just haul him down and send him crashing to the ice. great way to deal with a breakaway if you happen to be Tampa.
