Kessel gets his 900th point tonight, very underrated player.

He'll almost certainly get to 1000 points, and will likely come up just short of 500 goals. 2 Stanley Cups, and arguably should have won the Conn Smythe in 2016. He lost to Crosby by a single 2nd place vote despite leading the team in goals and points after Crosby didn't score a goal in the Finals.

Hopefully the players follow the coach and buy in to taking less.

Also Friedman needs to shave that disgusting beard!

Hamilton's gonna want about 8M per and the only chip on the Canes side is the extra year they could give. But I think he'll get very competitive offers. I don't recall Waddell giving out many multi (more than 2) year deals in his tenure .
And losing him as well as one of Bean, Skjei or Gardinere (seattle) will hurt their blue line.

The Oilers with McDavid on the ice vs. off the ice are two totally separate teams. Love McDavid as a player, but I hate the Oilers because without him and Draisaitl they would be total bottom dwellers. Basically an NBA team. Forgot where I heard it but earlier this season the Oilers were one of the best teams in the league with him on the ice and bottom 5 without him on the ice. Something like +130 and -50.

And that's how the Islanders ended up drafting DiPietro when they already had Luongo. I always like to note that Sanjay Kumar ended up in prison a few years after that.
Did he get busted in to breaking in to white castle with Harold?

Carter with the lone goal in Penguins win against Buffalo.

What a great trade… for Pittsburgh.

And for Jeff, his career was done at the end of this contract if he stayed in LA. Bit sad that he was mailing it in here but it'll get him another few years in the league if he wants to continue as a vet for hire.

Well, if Carter played this way for us all year we could have gotten a first + decent prospect.
Martinez could have gotten a first + prospect.
Toffoli could have gotten a first + top prospect.

In recent years, players traded from LA go onto have a boost in production. While these players are entering better rosters, the impact is greater than everyone expected.

Is it a player issue? Players mailing it in or not training hard enough? Coaching/management? A change in direction after the Vegas pool party and upper management held little accountability? Stoll even got a job after that fiasco (something I strongly disagree with).

On the other side, Carter was holding a roster position from someone younger and now ready to step in. Kupari can slot into that position next year.

If Pittsburg goes onto the finals, a second and third is okay.
