Yeah this is what I remember. Norwalk was a dungeon with fences and netting, had to get changed in the parking lot. I'm pretty sure it was Ontario that had the brick wall the length of the rink on one side. "Hey guys, no checking against the brick wall". Total shitshow.

Can confirm, Ontario was the rink-length brick wall.

I moved to defense from LW since everyone but me grew to 6 feet in peewee

Ontario was also a teeny tiny

Another socal rink feature worth mentioning - the incline at the end of the old rink in Van Nuys

Any Premier League fans here? The Athletic listed West Ham United as the team for Kings fans to root for in the Premier League (along with recommendations for all 31 teams). Anyone have any say as to whether that's accurate or not, or could suggest a better analog? I wouldn't mind watching some football.

The Premier League is back: Which football club should NHL...

I just root for the Americans

Pulisic, 21 year old US soccer star plays for Chelsea
Yedlin, 26 year old defender for Newcastle
Vassilev, 19 year old who was just starting to get a few sub appearances for Aston Villa before the league shut down

I guess I should self-censor any anti-soccer/futbol comments....

Whatever you do, DO NOT PISS OFF the soccer fans!

Im a Liverpool fan, but I think Chelsea could be fun to watch next season. They have supposedly signed Werner and are rumoured to be in on Havertz (two top level germans)

 I would never subject any Kings fan to watch West Ham.

I'm an LA Galaxy and Manchester United fan, but I do follow any Americans closely. It pained me to see Pulisic make the move to Chelsea.

Also if anyone is looking for something to watch on Netflix, I highly recommend Sunderland Til I Die.

iirc Norwalk had a chain link fence. Bay Harbor had that wall of death in one corner where there was no glass, just really tall boards. absolutely no give there.

Yea I played out of Norwalk for several years and remember both. I remember everyone getting sick from the zamboni at Norwalk haha.

Norwalk was very unique (block wall and chain link fencing) but it was the only rink we could get time on to play some pick up games in the late 70s. Paramount didn’t allow it and I don’t remember any other rinks in/near Long Beach. Still, great memories.

By the numbers: The 15 worst NHL free agents of the last...

Some things to think.

1. The Kings dodged a huge bullet by missing on B. Richards and Kovalchuk, a decent case that there are zero Stanley Cups if either guy signs with the Kings.

2. The Kings traded significant assets for two players who completely fell apart shortly after. It truly was a blessing that Lucic and Sekera were on expiring contracts and Lucic was chasing the $$$ and didn't accept that ridiculous 7 year offer he was offered by the Kings.

Which would be inheredly stupid on the NHL's part. Money over health, right? So are they going to rent out the entire hotels, to prevent tourist on the same floors from coming in contact? Because that seems to be the only way to try and prevent any contact with possibly infected people.

The players are agreeing to this, no one put a gun to their heads and told them they had to accept it. No playoffs would have economic implications, which is important for players who are guaranteed a set amount of revenues generated by the league. And secondly many of these guys have short careers and this is a chance for them to win a Stanley Cup. They collectively decided as a group that the advantages to going this outweighed the negatives.

Some of you soccer nuts might enjoy Sunderland Forever on Netflix. I am not a fan of soccer, and I enjoyed watching it.

Sekera didn't fall apart. He got hurt.
