...and from your own link:

Data on more than 1,400 hospitalizations released Wednesday by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention showed that just over 25 percent of people hospitalized with covid-19 were under age 50. Most of these young people suffered from underlying conditions such as asthma, diabetes and hypertension. But at least seven for whom the CDC had data had no outside health problems, underscoring that a small fraction of severe cases remain hard to explain.

Answer this question:
When did the NHL have to cancel it’s season not related to a lockout?

Bonus question:
How much were owners and players making at that time?
I am not playing this game. I asked a straight forward question. I am not here to answer your riddles, or non-sequitur questions.

Provide links to data showing people under 40 are at risk of losing their lives. You can't. I have read and understand the data and the demographics of those we are losing. That's how I can say that.

Please answer the question. If not now, when? Under what conditions?

Are you just willfully ignorant?

I think we should just cancel the season. No more games. No Stanley Cup awarded in 2020. Plan to start next season on time, unless things haven’t improved.

My question for those who advocate delaying the restart of the season beyond June or July until some future date, or canceling this season and returning to start a new season sometime in October through December, what will change between now and then to make the situation better and more palatable for you?

The NHL franchises have contractual commitments to sponsors to play a minimum number of games in a season. Failing to do so this season will result in a big drop in revenue for the owners and players. This is why the NHL and NBA want to finish their seasons. I fail to see the large risk in allowing players in their twenties and thirties to play games in empty arenas. All of the people involved should take proper precautions and people most at risk should not be around the players, or anyone with whom the players are coming in contact.

If you are not willing to see the NHL resume play in June or July, then why would you not want to see next season suspended until a vaccine which is proven safe and effective is developed? Without a vaccine what will appreciable change between now and some time in the future where you believe it is acceptable to resume professional sports?
If you want to act like with states reopening now that we won’t know more in September than we do now you’re just being willfully obtuse for the sake of being difficult. Of course that’s also obvious by your continued make believe that the NHL is the players and nothing more.

You are misrepresenting my position. I posted the players should not be in contact, along with the people with whom the players come in contact, with anyone who is at risk. That includes the coaches, officials, training staff, equipment managers, etc.

Additionally, we are already seeing little to no effect on states such as Georgia which reopened weeks ago. So, no I think it is you who are being obtuse or you are just unable to review the data and process it.

i have a feeling these sponsor commitments all have out clauses in the case of emergency or changes out of their control, like this situation

my stance on cancelling the season has very little to do with the disease itself, it has more to do with the the fact that the integrity of the current season/playoffs has been affected already and in short, i'd rather damage one season instead of two. call it a day, let the players get healthy, get back to business next season as usual. if it has to be in empty arenas, so be it. no sense having the "well if we didn't play 12 extra games this season, we might have made the playoffs" ghost looming all next season

There's really not a whole lot of precedent for this from a league standpoint so. I mean the only one I can think of was a century ago and they canceled the final after an outbreak.

However, I DO think the players deserve their say here, and I'm assuming the union has heard their concerns re: safety and are still proceeding, so with all the precautions in place and concerns heard, who am I to judge? Of course, that's an assumption, I haven't read much on player views there. I would hope they're making some safety exemptions if needed.

Most entities will have some 'force majeure' clause in case of crazy interventions like this one, or at least a clause that provides for the parties to negotiate one. I'm guessing that's part of the round table.

Georgia’s rosy coronavirus data is a lie

The rest of the country (with the exception of NYC and others of its ilk) look at Cali with sorrow and pity but not due to how the CCV has impacted the populace but how truly pathetically the state has responded to the ffcrisis itself. Get out of Cali and you will see how ridiculous allot of your population is behaving as a result of listening to the MSM and how poor a job local govt has handled things. Most of my family and friends are all living in Cali (No and Slow) and those who have come to visit me all say the same thing, it is like nothing has changed. We have had a total of 4 cases of CCV with not 1 death. Lots of places can make those claims but what sets us apart is that we are one of the largest populations of people over the age of 55 in the entire No West. Makes driving a bummer at times but it is food for thought.
What would of happened if we didn’t flatten the curve?

It hasn’t just gone away. Now that everyone has declared they are done dealing with it, let’s see where we stand in two to three weeks.

That is fair, and a valid reason for canceling the remainder of the season.

Again you’re being purposely obtuse. “Hey guys just stay away from the head coach and equipment manager because they’re at risk” is not an actual strategy. Neither is saying they’re going to just stay home.

And Georgia? LMAO. You would be the kind of scientist to declare global hunger over because you just ate.

Not what is said, at all. I said everyone involved with the team, including the players, coaches etc. should stay away from individuals at high risk. If a coach or staff is at high risk, they shouldn't be with the team for these playoffs.

Regarding Georgia, you refuse to review and understand the data available. The daily deaths per 100,000 in Georgia has been under the rate for the entire U.S. for quite some time.

IHME | COVID-19 Projections

Besides, under the current plan which is being advocated thus far, the players, coaches and staffs are essentially sheltered in place from the rest of society.

Canceling the remainder of this season is an option, it's just one I don't think the owners or players find very appealing.

I was talking with a friend of mine who I used to go to WHA games with many years ago, and somehow the subject of WHA goalies came up. Some of these guys were somewhat creative with their masks. The first one not as much, but he is a former King. See if you can guess the name of the guy behind the mask.

Those masks are awesome. I do miss the creativity of these types of paint jobs, but the current helmet/cage offers a lot more protection and better visibility. I’m waiting for a goalie to wear some face paint during a game. Would be pretty good.

Oh absolutely much more protection today. I saw goalies wearing those type of masks take a shot off the mask, and be cut pretty severely. It was kind of interesting to see how creative some of the goalies were with their mask paint jobs.

You can say otherwise but you're lying to yourself if you think you'd be all about not finishing this season if this was happening in 2014.

Very easy for us as Kings fans to say "shut it down" when all we want to see is the draft ASAP and then want the season to start at its normal time. If next season doesn't start until December, that will be like 9 months without Kings hockey.

Selfishly, I'm all about just scrapping this season but I'm not going to be upset with them moving forward with something. Summer usually sucks for sports but it could be fun to have high-stakes hockey to watch in July. I just kind of think it is bullshit to have 24 teams get a shot.

lol Training camp not even set until July. That means the soonest we could see these games is mid-July, early August? Jesus. We'll have a Cup winner in September.
