I don't think that the Red Wings will win another game. The only bad team that they play is NJ. The do play BUF who has been abysmal lately but DET is so bad that they can't do anything right.

Cooper's contract- Dreger speculating that the reason Jon Cooper hasn't been resigned yet (last yr of 2.25 M per) is because he wants top money and the owners are waiting to see how far the Bolts go this year before they commit to that.
I thought he'd have inked a new deal by now.

Taylor Hall - minor rumblings that the Devils might move him/ Next year is the last year of this current deal. I don't think they will, but you never know. If they think they are X yrs out of a deep run and would benefit from moving him for a younger player and picks, maybe. But he's not only talented, he's a pretty good leader. Tends to put a pound of sweat in most shifts. Friedman speculated that Hall might be tired of carrying the team and if they don't bring in some top talent to help, he might look elsewhere next summer.

Leafs are bleeding goals again. Down 5-2 to Philly late in the 2nd.

Edit: Muzzin scores a pair, leafs trail by one.

Hall will be an interesting one. He'll be 28 as a free agent, basically 29 by the time he plays a game under his next contract, and already makes $6m on the cap. How much more do you want to pay a winger? A talented winger, but a winger. Plus the whole CBA thing coming up, which may or may not hurt him.

I think, for him, it's not just the money. It could be he would prefer to play on a better team. He'd have better options

Game over. Now maybe the media and Flyers analysts, will admit the season is over. It was over at Thanksgiving. Six times int he last 7 years they've pulled this nonsense, playing horrid thru Jan and then going on winning streaks and treading quicksand. It's fools gold.
Pregame, the media guys were still saying that even if the Flyers lose, they still have a shot....

No they don'.t

HOpefully next year, after some more bodies are moved out over the summer and Morgan Frost and a couple other youngsters make the team, with a new coach, they'll play a full 82, not 41.

Big win for Columbus. A regulation loss would have made it really tough for them to avoid either missing the playoffs or the dreaded WC2 in the East.

The Eastern playoffs are going to be fun to watch this year

I kind of like Gordon and think he may stick around. It's too bad they completely blew it early in the season because they could have done some damage in the playoffs, Hak should have been fired last offseason if not earlier.

He should have never been hired. Let alone be given a 5 yr deal, with no professional experience. I still think that one reason Hexy was canned was because he wants 100% control in all personnel decisions. Quenville, who is friends with Fletcher, wants to have a say in decisions regarding personnel moves, which he didn't have in Chicago. Time will tell, but I think that is who the front office wants.

Gordon, I think, is better situated for the Phantoms. He is good with the prospects when they make the AHL, that's an important part of their development. He is very good with the younger players. The biggest plus this last month or so is watching Myers. What a bright future he has, that size , speed, physical game, good vision, IQ. He'll be a solid addition to the Flyers d, and looks to have the ability to be a top pairing d.

Nice comeback win by the Devils lastnight to push them 5 points ahead of the Kings.

Devils have 2 more ROW’s than the Kings.

Kings have 2 games in hand on NJ and one game in hand on Detroit and Ottawa.

Red Wings win 2-1.

Sens up very early 1-0 on the Leafs. That leafs defense has been shambolic lately.

Not having Dermott and Gardiner does not help.

Max Veronneau with his first NHL point.
