Whoa there now. Where do you get that? They have done nothing but win for two months now. Just because NSH is hotter than hell doesn't mean CHI is "avoiding the division title."

Should the 2015 NHL Playoffs start now, the Blackhawks have a significantly easier time to defeat the Blues the first round/Conference Quarterfinal.

But what you wrote was nonsensical. You claimed that they were avoiding the top of the division and with a record of 21-7-1 in their past 29 games your contention is absolutely unsupportable.

We're lucky the pacific is mediocre this season. Despite all our suckage, other teams are trying to help us into the playoffs!

That was the first game in two months the Hawks looked lifeless. They have been firing on all cylinders.

Oilers thrash the Hawks. 5-2.

Yessssss!

I must have used the wrong set of words then, Ron.

Yeah, I think "avoid" really conveys an effort on their part. I see your point, however, that it would definitely be more beneficial to them if the playoffs started today. St. Louis would roll over as they usually do and the Hawks would be on their way.

Losing to EDM the way they did...one must think that they are finally cooling down? But I can't see NSH keep up this breakneck pace. So I still think CHI wins the division and could very well play WPG or STL in the first round anyway.

Its hard to laugh and make fun of other teams and their gongshows when we're sucking right now.

What's so frustrating is it's not a full-on suck -- it's a "_just_ not quite good enough" set of performances, not a "they just don't have the abilities and skills to pull it off". They HAVE the abilities and skills -- we've seen them. We're just not seeing enough of them game-to-game... and THAT is the thing that's maddening me.

Elliotte Friedman reporting on the FAN 590 today that AZ and CO might be working on a deal for Yandle for OReilly. I guess I thought CO would go a bit younger on a D since their core is mostly under 25 or so, but maybe they aren't getting the offers they thought they would for ROR

I know Maloney wants a young top forward for Yandle as part of the deal but I thought The Wings would bite since they need a D, but I guess the rest of the asking price is too high, now they seem to be focusing on Sekera.

I also wonder if OReilly will actually live up to his billing ,he doesn't seem like much of a 200 foot player and that is Tippett's MO.

Not too many GM's are going to offer up too much for an egotistical player with a problem father (remember his Dad chiming in when he heldout).

That's right...I forgot about that. And having lived thru that with Lindros, whose parents never cut the cord , were involved in every thing regarding him, including his contract and how they felt the Flyers were or weren't treating him, yes, that is a red flag.

bad news for the wings...

Stretcher coming out for Jimmy Howard, looks like he injured knee or groin on opening WASH goal.
