Man that Cernak trade sure turned out to be terrible, huh?
Kings could have had Connor.
Was that Jamie Kompon on the Jets bench? Must be something in the water in LA, seems like everyone is doing better after leaving LA.

Fact is 2 guys can’t win by themselves in the playoffs.Fact is McDavid shouldn't be getting his first goal of a series in game 4.
The whole "seems like everyone is doing better since leaving LA" is literally what half of our Cup teams benefited from when they left their prior team and arrived in LA (Carter, Richards, Penner, Muzzin, Gaborik, Williams, Mitchell, and on and on).
Hockey is a business; players and personnel move. I don't think we've been harmed by it anymore than we've benefited from it as compared to any other team. I'm not saying we shouldn't criticize moves, just saying this doesn't just happen to the Kings.
Don't forget Tarasenko and Karlsson.
I wonder what Dean Lombardi, Darryl Sutter, Milan Lucic, Martin Jones, and Tanner Pearson are all up to now. Probably enjoying much more success elsewhere as well.

And Barzal, and Chabot, and Boeser, and Konecny, and Aho, and Cernak oh wait.....
If they had kept their 1st round pick that year. Who knows what they would have done.
Bruins took Zboril (13), DeBrusk (14) and Senyshyn (15) right before Barzal and Connor went. Ouch
And Stutzle and Zegras and Caufield and
Muzzin has went downhill too, and he was supposed to help Toronto get over the hump.
It always seems like players who leave tear it up with another team because the only time you hear about them are when they are doing well. No one makes the news when they suck. It's never news when guys like Shore or King end up in in Europe a season later or if Andreoff ends up an AHL lifer.
I don't think I saw Lewis once during OTBortbort and Lewis played quietly well that series
Meh, win some, lose some. DL made his fair share of beauties we all can recall.
Still remember when people on here were miffed he traded perennial future all star Roland McKeown to Carolina. That one worked out for nobody.
Well, let's not forget it was a first and McKeown for Sekera.
Sure, McKeown may not have become who we hoped, but that was a horrible trade. Some thought it was bad. Others, like me, thought it could be conditionally good. But by and large people were right to criticize the trade
I will always defend that deal, the team had earned another shot, Sekera was perfect for the system, and they had a Voynov shaped hole. That one was worth it. Sekera got hurt, the team was spent, and he took the extras to go to Edmonton.
The Lucic trade, that was a disaster from Day 1. It was impossible to re-sign him, no cap space available, no expiring contracts, nobody they could afford to trade to retain him. That was the first sign of desperation from Lombardi, far too much was sacrificed for a rental on a team that needed to rebuild its dwindling asset list. That was the moment "retooling" was lost as an option.
I was just having lunch and The Black Parade came on the radio at the place I was eating at.
Hard to imagine a band I hate as much as My Chemical Romance can bring me back to such a wonderful time. That pre game during the finals in 2012 was so unreal. I remember being at game 3 with my Dad and witnessing in person that legendary run.
Everything about the team feels so much different now but nobody can take those days away from us.
