They do the same thing in the regular season too. They get rattled so easily, you would think they're a young inexperienced team.

The biggest reason for that is awful leadership. Everything starts and ends with Getzlaf. He literally said something last year to the effect of, "It's hard for me to lead when I'm not producing". And what do you know every ****ing year it's Getzlaf coming up invisible when his team needs him most. Getzlaf and Perrry would rather throw hissy fits at the end of games than take a long hard look in the mirror and do their jobs, which is putting the puck in the net.

Oh, I know. I just literally can't remember a game where it was clear they were going to lose and they didn't goon it up at the end. The only time they don't do it is when they still think they have a chance to win and time runs out.

I am not going to be shocked if Anaheim comes back and wins this series only because the Preds are missing two key players.

It's going to take another 2-1 game like last night for the Preds to advance. They can do it, but I think this series is still up for grabs.

Saw that happen live. He should get a game for that.

He did it twice, once at the start of the of the fight, trying to get free, then the one along the boards when he clearly yanked the refs arm to throw a punch. But hey, it's the playoffs so...

that's even worse in video form, what the hell was he thinking.. i really hope they suspend him just to send a message now, i'm tired of guys taking cheap shots around refs and linesmen. seemed like there used to at least be some semblance of "honor" in stopping when the linesman grabs you, i've seen so many punches thrown over linesmen and on guys on the ice this season

How'd that 1-3-1 work today Sens? 7-0 Pens.

As I mentioned in a previous thread, the onus is on the attacking team to figure out how to get past it. It's not an infallible system, particularly with the speed the Penguins possess. Once you get behind the trap, the defending team gets in heaps of trouble. This is why I don't care if teams try to employ trap systems. Maybe it's cause the way my brain works, but I love the chess-like mind games the coaches have to play against each other.

Not suspendable IMO.

Also don't like the ref holding both players. That is for the linesmen to do. He should of let them go.

This does call back to my displeasure over the instigator called two games ago. Like Ritchie isn't instigating that fight with Ekholm in a "non-hockey" play?

Under 5 minutes so auto suspension as well. That's why they didn't do it which goes back to my point the refs pick and choose when to call them and who the player is really factors in.

Charles Barkley was on Mike & Mike this morning saying "their is nothing better than the Stanley Cup Playoffs".

On another note, does anybody outside of Southern California have a recommendation on NHL Center Ice vs NHL.tv as I live in Vegas and I assume the Kings (and Ducks for that matter) will be blacked out locally starting next season.

It was 6 on 4 for the Ducks which is probably why he jumped in.

Besides it being the truth, it's also because it's not predictable like the NBA is. The East is straight garbage. It truly is the JV conference in the NBA. A 53 win number 1 seed? Terrible. A year ago you'd predict GSW vs the Cavs and now it's on the verge of happening for the 3rd year in a row. There is no certainty like that in the NHL. Modern day Stanley Cup, none of this Original 6 nonsense, is the hardest trophy to win.

Refs are supposed to watch the players to assess penalties and not try to stop fights from happening by themselves. That could of gotten ugly if the two of them really wanted to fight (they didn't) as one player could gain a distinct advantage if the ref kept trying to stop it.

I actually have no issue with Perry doing what he did. Ref shouldn't be trying to stop a fight from happening by holding off each player with one hand. Tell them he will hand out game misconducts if they fight and let them go. If they still decide to go, hit them with the penalty.

It's really a joke since neither guy wanted to do it. Just a lot of ******** posturing from a fake tough guy in Perry and Fiddler isn't going to give them any potential momentum for the next game at that point.

Someone got suspended for what Perry did early this season and rightfully so. Refs/linesmen are off limits whether you care for their actions or not.

Getzlaf melting down, par for the course...I took a LOT of **** from Ducks fans for saying as much. He's gone full Thornton, but maybe worse since he throws a beer league end game blowout hissyfit, too. Both guys are monsters against easier competition and earlier in series (their playoff PPGs ARE pretty eyepopping) Then totally vaporize when the going gets tough. I just don't get it, frankly, especially with the physical toolset Getzlaf has where he can just bulldoze people (frankly kind of reminds me of Lindros when he really takes control).

I'm not going to be upset and try to enforce a zero tolerance policy at the end of Game 5 of the WCF. If it was egregious (Vermette slash) then it wouldn't matter but this was nothing much to write home about. I hate the Ducks more than anyone on this site--arguably--and even I can't get behind a suspension for this.

Following up on hating the Ducks, don't toss dirt on Getzlaf's grave just yet. Much like your cheering against Calgary and Edmonton, I'm going to have to find you out in the IE if your early celebration here leads to Getzlaf going back to monster mode :sarcasm:

I'm banking on Getzlaf's long history of ghosting this time of series. I'll go into hiding if he doesn't!

But re: Perry, I mean, I'm not getting out the torches, but I can't imagine the refs union is thrilled. They've set precedent for this sort of thing multiple times, I'm just holding it up against history, and especially given the situation, Perry knew what he was doing, it wasn't even 'heat of the moment' like previous suspensions were, he was just being a beer league dickbag because he knew he could and he was right.

He'll get away with it, but he certainly won't be getting the benefit of the doubt on borderline calls going forward. What he did was dumb on a lot of levels, not something that helped his team at all. It goes back to confidence, keeping your cool, and leading by example. A few years ago, one of the Kings would have just laughed in that situation, confident that they would be getting the last laugh. One reason they were so hard to beat.

Nick Ritchie is another rat on the team. He was looking at numbers the whole way, dirty play.

I hope the Ducks just get wrecked. *******s.
