Different situation altogether, but more importantly, league is not pressed into doing anything right away, they have time. With voynov it was in-season and didn't have the luxury of letting it go

Are we signing Tavares or what? Dumping Muzzin/Lewis to make room?

The Kings are probably one of the 3-5 teams Tavares will meet with in the listening period in a few days. But that is only if he makes it that far.

My guess not in any order:
Vegas
sharks
kings
leafs
blues/bolts

The only reason to trade one of Muzzin/Martinez for just futures is for Tavares. If a trade happens, then we know something is up. Before or after a Tavares signing doesn't really matter that much since we can go over the cap by 10% during the summer.

You're putting us above the Leaves? Well, that's good at least.

In terms of Muzzin...... I was very impressed with Brickley in what little I saw of him. I do believe that MacDermid/Fantenberg are ready for full-time NHL duties. To me, that means we can get away with trading Muzzin. In terms of Martinez, the dude's just twice as versatile as Muzzin. I'd keep A-mart and trade Muzzin.

And then there's Lewis...... I think Amadio can take his spot and be twice as affordable. Plus, we've got Vilardi who will more than likely earn a spot on this team. Meanwhile, Nate Thompson is signed until 2019.

And am I the only one crossing my fingers regarding potential improvement from Iafallo? I really hope he gets better.....

I hope Iafallo gets better, too. He needs to work on his endurance and goal finishing.

And the list wasn't in any order. :P

60 pts, leads the league in ice time, plays all minutes, damnit I'm irrationally angry Doughty didn't win. Now to see Kopi get snubbed for the Hart for MacK's 5 more pts, hell he may not even get the Selke.

Guess we should be happy Quick "won" the Jennings...

In the past, when it came to the Norris and Drew, his detractors (read: Ottawa fans) said he didn't score enough. His defense was the best in the league, but he didn't score enough. Goes out this year and scores 60, still the best defensive-dman, still the most minutes, and loses to a guy with three more points.

I was really hoping he would win it this year. Huge for his legacy. With that said, he's gonna be a finalist a few more times, and I think he has a win or two more in him. But this year looked so good. Hedman riding that east coast nut sack to the podium.

I'm so salty right now.

I'm gonna be livid if Kopitar doesn't get the Selke.

I try not to get too upset with the voting, especially the ones done by the writers. Plenty of instances in the past where a handful got lazy; ie Thomas Vanek got Selke votes presumably because he was +43 but in reality he didn't play any PK and was benched late in games when Buffalo needed to protect a lead. Heck, my favorite was somebody giving Josh Harding a top 5 Calder vote when he started 4 games in 2006-07. Unless I was missing something, I think he was still eligible for Calder the following year.

If anything, it's gonna be amusing to see the votes made public and see who gets skewered. Hedman made it onto 163 ballots. Doughty made it onto 160. Don't really have a dog in this fight. Doughty's one of my favorites in the league and Hedman is damned good too.

Here are the voting results for the Norris:
Hedman of Lightning wins Norris Trophy as best defenseman

Pts. (1st-2nd-3rd-4th-5th)
1. Victor Hedman, TBL 1385 (94-57-6-5-1)
2. Drew Doughty, LAK 1164 (52-68-28-8-4)
3. P.K. Subban, NSH 565 (11-14-50-30-17)
4. Seth Jones, CBJ 406 (2-9-38-33-34)
5. John Carlson, WSH 311 (3-6-19-38-30)
6. John Klingberg, DAL 160 (1-7-4-18-27)
7. Roman Josi, NSH 86 (0-0-6-12-20)
8. Brent Burns, SJS 48 (1-1-3-3-7)
9. Alex Pietrangelo, STL 35 (0-0-3-4-8)

Yeah, I thought it was a lock Doughty won the Norris and Kopitar won the Selke. Pretty sure Kopitar won't win the Hart though which is stupid since he deserves it but expected with these voters.

This award show reminds me of Let's Make A Deal, with all the wacky shenanigans going on. I don't know if it's spectacularly great, or a spectacular dumpster fire lol

That little kid that presented with Hall did really well, I thought.
