The Kings were 2-2-1 against the Ducks this past season.

None of their wins came in regulation, having won one in OT and the other in a shootout. They lost two games to the Ducks in regulation, and one in OT. They were also outscored 12-9 in their 5 meetings.

It definitely would have been an uphill battle against the Ducks.

If any of the Kings players are watching this game, I think they might be getting the memo that this is how you win playoff ganes: by scoring goals.

The Kings aren’t built to score goals. The roster is to slow and gritty and Stevens has shown time and again that he values grit over skill. Brodzinski, Amadio and Iafallo have all been scratched this series in favor of Mitchell, Clifford and Thompson. Enough said.

Kings were good in game 3 with a better roster. Think people are underestimating how good vegas has been and overestimating how bad the Kings are.
Bet you if the Kings wouldn't have wasted the energy of their top players they would have won the game. Kings were the better team early on, but wore out down the stretch because certain guys were overplayed.

Not a single forward on the Knights play more than ~17 minutes.

Our most important offensive players are Kopitar, Brown and Carter. They shouldn't be our main penalty killers. It's such a misguided way of utilizing them at this point. They're all in their 30's. These guys all played 20+ minutes, plus had to kill penalties. Meanwhile younger guys who were buzzing around like Iafallo and Kempe only played 13 or 14 minutes.

I've said it a million times, you have to match Vegas's energy level. You can't do that with the current player utilization philosophy of the Kings.

I bet you Gallant was thrilled when Stevens threw out a bunch of dead tired players on the ice at the end of the game. Kopitar was visibly gasping for air on his way to the face off circle. Meanwhile the Knights have a bunch of fresh players on the ice. It was one of the dumbest coaching decisions I've seen in recent memory.

What's wrong with the wave?
It's annoying if it's going on during the game.

I see what you're saying now, RJ. Think I saw it last year too. Preds throw all kinds of cross checks in front of their own net to "push" other teams players away but when they get pushed back they flop, turn to the ref, and ask for a penalty.

almost never see kopitar huffing and puffing the way i've seen in the past few weeks

he's been worked to death this year and it's showing

You nailed it. Why Amadio was scratched is beyond me.

Who wins the award for lamest showing of the post season? Kings won that in 2016. Are they going to win it tomorrow??

He played 23:32 last night. None of the Knights defensemen even played that much. He led all Kings forwards in PK time. Then at the end of the game Stevens makes him play essentially 3 straight shifts with no break. That's an impossible situation.

Meanwhile, Rieder, whose strength is killing penalties, didn't see a single second of PK time.

Iafallo is buzzing all game long he gets 12:52 in ice time.

Ducks fans were talking real big last night

Yikes, Kings and Ducks both on the downswing. What do the Ducks do? Getzlaf, Kesler, and Perry all over 33 years old. Luckily for them they have a lot of really nice young pieces. Trade all 3 of those guys and let the young guys take bigger roles.
