I doubt the NHL retaliates against players unless an owner is upset. In the Caps case, the owner already supports Ovechkin going to the Olympics.

Bettman released the detailed reasoning why the clubs, who he represents essentially, are against going to the Olympics and yeah as expected, it's just business.

NHL teams can loan players out, happens somewhat often with U-20 players who may not be playing frequently.

If the Caps allow him to go and loan him to the Russian national team there is nothing the league can do.

All three times I flipped the channel, the first thing I saw was a deplorable Gaudreau dive.

Call me a bad fan, but Ducks aren't even low on my **** list. It was wonderful watching them feed Calgary their lunch as those babies dove and whined around shying from fights and eating hay when they did actually stand up.

Definitely agree with this statement. I have no problem with any team this year, but can't stand the Flames. Dirtiest team in the NHL and just full of baby rats. I can't wait to see them get swepted in the first round.

Former Kings defenseman prospect Thomas "Mr. Overtime" Hickey scored the overtime game-winning goal last night as the NY Islanders defeated the Nashville Predators. Because of injuries, the third-pair defenseman played as a LW forward on the second line.

i'm so completely sick and tired of him waving his hands around every time a stick touches him.. welcome to the NHL, you get slashed. a lot.

I think Letang is seriously underrated. Probably due to the staggering amount of injuries over his career.

He may very well be, but when your average games played over 11 seasons is 55, and you've been in arms reach of 82 games only once, that matters. People that want to put him in the top-5 conversation try to push out guys who play 20+ more games every season and at that level health and fortune becomes a 'skill.'
We've been spoiled by Drew and Anze being amazingly healthy their whole careers.

That being said Letang is an amazing player and a fun sparkplug, he's as pissy on the ice as Doughty.

Agreed

I hate Calgary as much as everyone but be careful what you wish for, a Ducks or Sharks SC would be horrendous for us.
