Flyers had a 2-0 lead on the Bluejackets ,who fired 52 SOG's at Mason, but BJ's get 2 goals in the last 30 seconds of the game, tied it with 8 seconds left, when Wayne Simmonds iced the puck while the FLyers were on a PP, which lead t the Bj's getting the GTG. THen they beat the Flyers in a shootout 3-2.
Flyers lose a critical point, now tied with the Wings for the 8th spot.

Damn Hawks gonna end up in the wild card slot

They've been blown out by the Star like 3 or 4 times this year and looked awful. The Star could actually upset the Hawks in the playoffs, then lose 4-1 in the next round:laugh:

That would be bad for us should we win the division.:amazed:

Karlsson + Phaneuf = 13.5M

Ott's owner's just running his mouth at this point. The only thing that is keeping people in those seats at this point is E. Karlsson. If they trade him, the Sens would have to make the playoffs.

I could live with not winning the division, as long as we don't see Chicago in the first round. Do you think Dallas' hex on Chicago lasts into the playoffs?

That's got to be a painful loss for Philly. And Detroit rejoices. These photo finishes are something else to watch.

I'm very much in the camp of not wanting to the play the Preds in the first round. I think they're the most underrated team in the west.

I'd rather play SJ than Nashville.

Nashville would be tough, if not for Weber going down last year they could have beat the Hawks, they were playing that well.
Top goalie and elite defense (how good is Josi???) and add Johansen who is playing better than I expected, Forsberg a threat...yeah the Sharks would be the faster path forward.

If I remember correctly, Nashville was also scary coming into the 2012 playoffs, but luckily for the West, Radulov messed up their chemistry.

I guess this fits here, but I have been thinking about how for expansion every team will have to expose 25% of their payroll. We don't know if that varies from team to team, or if it's $18.5M for everybody if the cap is $74M (no matter if you spend to it). For the Kings sake, let's say it's $18.5M because they will spend to the cap, whatever it is.

So how do they meet that criteria if Brown has to be protected?
Gaborik - $4.875M
Greene - $2.5M
Clifford - $1.6M
Nolan - $950K
----------------
Total: $9.925M

They can expose other guys like McNabb, Andreoff, Shore and Forbort, but only McNabb will draw have a seven-figure price tag after he gets a deal this summer.

Not to mention Quick's career struggles against them although he has been a bit better this season. Also the Kings 2 wins against Nashville were OT wins where Nashville is something like 2-12. Nashville only has 1 more regulation loss than the Kings. I think that would be a brutal series much like St. Louis in 2013 where the winner is completely banged up after the first round.

I think they're going to have to expose two of Brown, Gaborik, Pearson, Martinez or Lucic (if -resigned) to meet that 25% minimum. If they absolutely want to keep Brown, Lucic will likely be the one exposed. Likely will have more years and more money in his contract than Brown so that could be a deterrent. There's a better chance he doesn't get claimed as opposed to guys like Martinez or Pearson.

It's not that they will want to keep Brown, it's that they will have no choice but to protect him if the PA gets their way on NMC or partial NMC players, if they don't have to protect Brown, problem solved, that's over $10.5M between him and Gaborik.
