Some more good news, Sharks are falling back down to earth a bit.

The 8th worst home record last year, 4th worst so far this year. Combined 31-32-8. Clearly, obviously, the Game 7 loss in 2014 has something to do with that. I don't know what the reason would be other than that. They're the best team on the road so far this year. How that doesn't translate to home ice, by that large of a margin, I don't get. Same with the Bruins.

Well if you talk to literally any Rangers fan about 2014, the immediate go-to conversation opener is "well that series was MUCH closer than just 5 games!"

Yeah guys, and it was about two snow piles closer to being a 4 game series

The Rangers were a shot away from winning any of the 3 games in LA. They had leads in all 3 games. The Kings were better, but they didn't run away with it.

The Kings won the series 4-1 and would have swept if it weren't for snow piles. It wasn't as close as the score indicated.

Anyone with a pair of functioning eyeballs could tell you the Kings were the better team. Every statistical metric in that series favored the Kings by a good margin. It was a nice story that the Rangers were able to counterpunch their way to some early leads in games, but they tried to hang on for dear life and it was like trying to stop a raging river with a sandbag. Not gonna happen. They didn't score a single 3rd period goal the entire series.

not trying to say the Rangers were awful or completely outclassed, but let's be honest here...it was the least intensive series for the Kings that postseason, and that's AFTER going through three grueling 7 game sets with what were likely the 3 next best teams in the west

it was a great series but the Rangers just did not have the same unending drive as LA in '14

The Central race has to be the most interesting story of the final month.

You could potentially see a team like Dallas enter the final day of the season projected to open at home vs. Colorado, and if they lose that final game they could instead be going on the road to Chicago.

The Ducks and Kings race will be interesting, but I don't see that big a drop off between playing San Jose or Nashville.

I agree with this, and ranger's fans who say it was closer than 4-1. don't get me wrong the better team won but they were close games. Double OT winner for the cup is an enormous moment.

Kinda like when San Jose beat LA in 2011. Was closer than a 4-2 series...three of the sharks wins came in OT and LA was without Kopitar. I still bring that up every now and then and it was not for the cup. I imagine I would bring it up even more had LA not won 2 cups since.

Bruins in 1st place in the Atlantic, didn't see that coming at the beg. of the season. Bolts and Cats 1 pt behind which should make for an interesting finish

Marchland's 34 goals, 18% GWG, have a lot to do with that.

I also believe Machinehead said McDonagh was equal to Doughty.

If you're looking for realism, the Rangers fanbase won't deliver.

Bruins and Kings both surprised me that they missed last year. I am not surprised to see both in the playoffs, but am that both are at the top of their divisions

league wide McDonagh is under rated leading to some rangers fans over defending him. Not saying that is what happened when that guy compared him to drew but just a reason

Shut out by NJD 3-0 tonight.

They won't be as pissy on saturday either, so that' sa bonus

Puck was bouncing right for the Devils last night. Sharks held them without a shot for 18 minutes, but that was sandwiched around two goals. Nice rebound game by Kinkaid after being shelled by Pittsburgh, but we'll see how consistent he is as the de facto starter.

In related news, looking forward to doing the Staples tripleheader this weekend. Devils/Kings Saturday, Cavs/Clippers and Knicks/Lakers Sunday.

He said in a Fowler-Schultz poll that the only thing Cam Fowler has on Justin Schultz is reputation. That fanbase will defend that McIlrath pick to the death even when it was a horrible pick the second it was made.

Well, hopefully they have better luck against Kinkaid this time...haha. Was it payday for you today? Concessions alone for those 3 games will be killer!

My understanding from reading some of the articles is that there is a Tenn law called joint and several liability. Meaning, the if the Marriott was, lets say, 10% at fault (they were 49%), they could technically still have to pay the entire $55 million. But I think they have to appeal in order for the judge to overturn his decision to split it 49/51.

Marriott hotels are all franchised so the owner will be responsible and they'll just file bankruptcy. You know the guy isn't paying her a penny ever.

While I think he intentional leveled someone, I don't think he knew he was hitting a linesman.
The Arbiter said that Wideman was concussed. I haven't read the 18 page report but I will and will most likely disagree with it.

Combo payday/tax return I suppose. Plus I can finally cash in a Fleming's gift card that I got two Christmases ago. I've had this weekend circled since last August when the schedules were released, so it'll be great to finally do it. I got lucky and bought the Lakers tickets before Kobe announced his retirement. Tickets have doubled in price since that point.

the appeal process and the NHL's concussion protocol are both pretty shoddy

correct me if I am wrong but in other leagues players play while they appeal right? I do not necessarily agree with that so I think below should happen.

Players can only appeal suspension > 5 games. So if they do appeal they should serve 5 games and then play while the appeal process is happening (which takes way too ****ing long if this is any indication of standard), and then after appeal serve the remainder if any. So Wideman would have served 5 at the time of the incident and then would have played till now, and now would be serving 5 more. Thoughts?
