We've won two cups with rosters many here hated. Take it with a grain of salt. We all want the best.

the 2013 WCF team as well, even they died heroically.

That 2013 run was the last time we saw man mode Mike Richards. That Bolland hit was basically the straw the broke the camel's back for his concussion issues.

I had high expectations in 2013 but 2014 expectations were very similar to those for this season going into the playoffs: expected anything except being swept.

It sucks getting blown out in the 1st round but it wasn't surprising. The historical bell curve of this team hit its peak in '14 and has been on the back end of the curve the last two years.

Cap fans are not enjoying Williams. At least we got to watch him at his best. Although, to be fair, he could be frustrating at times even then.

Dang Caps don't win tonight they are done. Ovechkin may never get a ring. Another Presidents trophy going down.

I'd be more upset with Ovechkin's performance or lack there of. And where did Backstrom go? Kuznetsov hasn't even arrived yet.

The Caps are missing their stars basically. Ovechkin scored most of his points in the first two games against the Flyers and has been mostly silent since. Same with Backstrom.

Williams too. He's has what, 1 goal in 9 games?

edit: 1 goal, 2 assist and a -6

Its too bad DL didn't land Daley or Oduya when they were available. I can't believe Chicago traded Daley for Scuderi in the first place.

My bracket for the West is mostly fuxored (thanks, LA Kings), but, fingers crossed, it's gonna be spot on for the East.

Kings over Pens will have to wait until next year.

Who didn't see this coming for the Caps? Every year it's the same story for that team. I went to grad school in D.C. and it was funny seeing my classmates who were Caps fans getting their hopes up in 2010, only to get eliminated in the first round against Montreal.

The Caps have finished 1st in their Conference six different times with two Presidents' Trophies, and in every single one of those seasons have not advanced past the second round. The last time the Capitals even reached the Conference Finals was in '98, when they got swept by Detroit in the Cup Final.

This is when you really start to question the leadership on that team. They're on their third coach since Boudreau left (Dale Hunter, Adam Oates, Barry Trotz). That team seems to be built on only having regular season success and that's it. They never get hot during the playoffs, they save their hot streaks for the regular season.

Cullen is having a hell of a series, totally overshadowing vets like Williams and Richards.

I was thinking about this the other day. Chicago basically got Ehrhoff for Daley. Would have been nice to have done that trade straight up, leaving Scuds in Pittsburgh. :shakehead

Whoops, meant to write traded Daley for Scuderi. But yeah, awful trade for Chicago losing a top 4 guy and thinning out their D even more. I guess DL didn't make a trade like that because we already had so many mediocre guys clogging up the pipeline already, even though Daley would have been a significant upgrade over McNabb, Scuderi, McBain, and Schenn.

I don't see neither the Isles or the Lightning beating the Pens. I think it's a lock for them.

No kidding. earlier this year I was like wait, Matt Cullen is still in the NHL? He's just gritting it out. He's the only reason I can get behind the Pens winning. Everything else, vomit.

Bowman's has been disaster since 2015 finals ended as GM ,, But to be slightly fair he had to dump Daley

He was playing poorly in Chicago and wanted out (Asked for trade) ,, Hawks don't like to keep disgruntled guys around locker room

Awful trade from start (Sharp/Johns for Daley/Garbutt) to finish (Scuderi with salary retained for Ehrhoff)
