What destroyed the Ducks, is that they can't develop a better Goalie, also Cam fowler is still their best defender.

None of that has anything to do with an internal cap. The Ducks have lost no one significant due to money issues. Also no UFA over the past Five or so years, would have saved the Ducks from their current issues.

The Ducks suck at developing players, and it's sinking them. It's what sinks most teams in a cap league. Look at the EDM Oilers who spend plenty of money.

Yeah, but nah. They lost Beauchemin, Belesky, Palmieri, DSP, Etem, and Bonino. Some in trades, but Murray basically gutted the young forward group to get cheaper/faster. If they were able to spend to the cap, they'd be able to retain at least a couple of those guys. You can't say the internal cap didn't have an effect on that roster. How do you think our roster would look if we couldn't spend to the limit? It'd be weaker with more holes.

Three more points for Mike Cammalleri tonight, that's 26 pts this yr. He's really having a good year, always liked him, usually works hard, pretty smart player, has a high 5 x 5 scoring percentage and has been very consistent in his career, . and counting tonight, thru 762 games, he's at
.74 ppg.

Jamie Benn > Kane

I think it's debatable but I'm glad they're both scoring > 110 point paces and hope they (and Seguin) can keep it rolling all year.

I'm fully wrong on Panarin, though. Thought there was no way he eclipsed 50 points, and would get pushed around a bit. But I guess I didn't think he'd be playing with Kane too. But he's great on his own accord, the Hawks were tailor made for his skillset (Teuvo too).

Cammy's just been doing his thing quietly for years. Surprised he never really caught on on a contender outside of that one great post-season with MTL. I always remember how DL said he'd be a great scorer on a crappy team and other than that run its' been true so far, but looking at his all around game, it seems like a MOSTLY unfair criticism.

It really is ridiculous that these guys scream goals now. I hear this time and time again watching highlights. It's like the teams are telling them to pump up the volume if the home team scores. Even Bob Miller seems to be doing it.

Most in trades...other 2 the team choose different players. IE Bieska and Haglan.

I thought there was a Kings game tonight... none until Saturday?? WTF is up with these long gaps?

Don't worry, the NHL has made up for it by scheduling games on both Saturday and Sunday at Staples.

What a crock. I'm not going to both games...will sell Pittsburgh (I do every season as we usually get our ass kicked) and go see both Dustin and Tampa fumble the puck all over the ice on Sunday.

They had no business winning against the Ducks last night. Awful display of hockey, and still the ended up with the two points. Go figure.

Was watching NHL Network a couple of hours ago and the analysts were creaming all over how Kane and BreadMan were just having so much fun together and that Toews will be there when it counted and that CHI is so hot these days (I didn't realize that an OT loss to the Kings and a regulation loss to the Wild in their last two games was considered 'being hot") and they were the greatest team ever to lace them up in the NHL yada yada yada.

Then they go out and lose in OT again.

Tell me again why this team is getting so much in platitudes when in reality the have one very hot Patrick Kane and pretty much nothing else going for them right now.

They are 13-9-4. That's a .500 team, right there, and right now. I'm sure they will get it going, just as I am sure the Ducks will get it going, but if they play the Kings card from last season they may find themselves on the outside looking in...oh wait, I forgot about that pathetic Pacific which will probably ensure they get in even with only 88 points.

Well, to be fair, people gave us the benefit of the doubt last year when we were playing like crap. Most analysts said there was no way we miss the playoffs. I do think CHI can take it up another level if necessary.

I agree the analysts are giving them a lot of rope rightfully, I think Chicago's weaknesses get glossed over, though. They are thin-ish on defense and beyond that one, albeit absolutely dominant, line. They can get to the playoffs riding that alone though, imo, and no one wants to play them in a series. It's like us, we're probably easy enough to beat in a one-off, but we're a damn near impossible out.

I would rather play any team but Chicago from a "I think we can win this series perspective," though. They just have Quick's number like no other team in the league by a significant margin and have the capability to break our possession. But those games are just so damn entertaining...

Yeah, wtf is up with a back to back at home? 1pm Sat, then a 7pm Sun.:shakehead

I think right now, every team in the league has some sort of hole in the lineup.

Every team is dealing with some form of (injuries, cap crunch, ETC). I don't really see a complete team anywhere.

Also the Rangers/MTL are just propped up with ridiculous goalie play.

I see your point with Belesky, Palmieri. The rest of those guys, no.

Especially Etem who has trouble cracking an NHL roster, and staying.
