Just watched highlights of that Washington / New York Rangers game.

Have to feel sorry for the Ranger fans that attended the game, getting it tied up like that with 0:05.7 to go in the third and then losing it in OT.

And I can't believe I just wrote that. I must really be getting soft in my old age.

**** the Rangers. Okay, now I feel better. :)

I don't think it's Bettman in this case. I think it' some of the old guard that don't want the system changed that much. Granted teams might play differently with it but it's been shown time and again it really doesn't change where teams finish.

I've always thought it logical for the scoring system to be:

3 for a regulation win.
2 for an OT win.
1 for an OT loss.
0 for a regulation loss.

However, the league will NEVER do that. They love the tight-going-down-the-stretch league standings so much now every season; this protocol would defeat that completely.

Poor Henrik, just has no help, not the defenseman better than Doughty in front of him, not the superstar forward making an effort for the puck, no one.

...am I being too satirical lately?

The King Hank has been bad for about 11 games now. I will use the Hf boards staple; King Hank hasn't had a SV% over .913 in his last 11 games. Ouch.

"McDonagh is definitely equal to Doughty. They are two comparable players." - May 2014

"Rangers D is better than the Kings D AINEC. McDonagh controls the game all around a way Doughty wishes he could. Lol Doughty soft, nice goal Pouliot."-May 2014

"It's just not fair, Hank can't do it all himself, Quick got carried by his team." - June 2014.

"If the Rangers didn't lose 4 games, they would have won the Cup."

"We got a fantastic 4 year contract for S. Now Pile. He took a home town discount, what a guy."

Representatives tonight from NJ, Nashville, Florida, Toronto, Anaheim, Ottawa, Buffalo, Chicago

**** off Chicago. They traded Saad and I doubt they can afford Drouin

They can make it work for Drouin but problem would be summer of 2017 when Panarin/Drouin and TT would all be RFA's

Cap hell again

As a Hawk fan though we badly need a LW to put alongside Toews/Hossa

Going to give Panik a try at it when he gets his visa stuff fixed

Drouin-Toews-Hossa
Panarin-Anisimov-Kane

You know it would be good for Kings/Hawks rivalry to see Hawks get back on feet after all the cap losses this summer

I'll admit I only saw the spear live (as in real time) and I thought it looked pretty bad. Didn't see the reverse angle until yesterday

"McDonagh can't defend and neither can Lundqvist."

Oh great "Cue" the Holtby is the greatest goalie that has ever lived threads and talk coming up the next few years. He didn't even make that save the defenseman got a stick on it. But anyways glad the Rangers are sucking. Hate everything New York!

That Ovechkin OT winner was filthy, suspect D or not. I've got to try and catch more Caps games. They play the Sens tomorrow, will be interesting to see the HFGOLDENBOY try and shut down Ovi and co.

I'm thinking 6-4 Caps.

It was a great sequence all around no doubt and a fantastic ending to a game.

Ovy and his flair for the dramatic, such an enjoyable player to watch, lucky to be watching one of the greatest goal scorers of all time just build his legacy game after game

Hate the fact that it's against San Jose but it's good to see Toronto back to reality.

But that winning culture!

Come on.... Doughty would have tackled Overchicken and punched him on the ice.

Kadri -4 tonight. Love it.

Reilly is even though, they've got a gem there for sure. And TBH Gardiner has become more solid than I ever thought he'd be.

Great foundation there, great coach, fantastic pipeline--just have to start gutting the deadweight at the end of the year and I think they'll be headed in the right direction.
