Good ol' Bernier.

I disagree. The guy is a diva and by all accounts, has always done only what he wants. Numerous insiders have stated he beats to his own drum. Jarmo took a player that he had no leverage on and flipped him for one of the most promising young defenseman in the league. This baggage has been on display for over a year. I think both teams got exactly what they needed, but I love this for Columbus. If I was a Columbus fan I'd be ecstatic.

I agree. I hate this deal for the Preds. Johanssen's ego is not worth the headache. I think they could have gotten more for Jones if they waited.

I love how Rick signing in Washington has served up a whole new batch of crap about "OMG kingz cheeturz". Morons, they're everywhere. And yeah the ducks suck. Next thing you know they'll lose to Toronto 5-0....

I am a little surprised he can return to the league so easily with the drug charge still being adjudicated. Won't there be issues for him traveling between countries with the drug background?

Assuming that it was just one pill bottle of prescription drugs (as is being widely reported), the charges ultimately may not lead to much of a conviction. In other words, the adjudication probably won't restrict his travel.

Stupid play by Jake Allen costs his team one point. Stupid.

It's funny, I used to have a beer league teammate who always got on my case for not doing what Allen did. One time I did it if only to show him what happens if I get beat to the puck.

Bob McKenzie thinks that the Bolts will move Druoin in the next 7-10 days and that 'upwards' of 12 teams have expressed interest in him.
Looks like Stevie Y will have plenty of offers to wade thru...

NHL fines Jets Ehlers ($2000) and Devils Farnham ($2000) for embellisment

what they hell happened to Khudobin? Thought he had promise.
I like Tokarski and think that is a good pick up but how many friggin goalies do the quacks need? It's like they are just hoping one pans out.

Maybe they are trading Anderson and need someone for AHL club.

I still think Theadore + for drouin makes sense for the ducks and bolts....I hope they do not do it.

Bernier should keep his mouth shut.

Anyway, I agree. A bad, undisciplined game. Kind of uncharacteristic, but then again, the Ducks season has been uncharacteristic. It's hard to believe with how bad they have played that they are still in the hunt for a playoff spot, but that's the Pathetic Division for you.

If Gibson is out for any length of time, that's going to make it all the much harder for the Ducks to move forward.

It's a bit shocking how they've gone from one of the top scoring teams in the league a year ago to can't find the back of the net in a New Jersey Devils type way. Who ever thought that a Bruce Boudreau coached team would have that problem?

You can hold Bob Murray responsible for much of this. I've always said he's one of the best at building a contender but absolutely clueless in how to put them over the top. Every year he changes his mind at how to make his team the "best". 2 years ago, it was model themselves after the Kings. A year ago, it was construct a lineup that could match up well against Eastern Conference teams. This year, it was replace skilled players like Beleskey and Palmieri with Hagelin and Stewart and Beauchemin with Bieksa.

Totally agree about Gibson. Especially with Fowler out, he's keeping this team on life support. The Ducks would be right there with the Blue Jackets if it were not for him (not sure if that's a good thing).

This was my biggest issue with his offseason moves. I said it during last season that Murray HAS to lock up Beleskey and pay the man his money but a lot of fans disagreed with my take. Maybe I'm in the minority, but you don't break up a team that was one game away from appearing in the SCF. You keep the same players and give them another shot.

Murray should have at least kept one of Beleskey or Palmieri in the offseason, but I think the Ducks' internal cap kept them from signing either. Acquiring Bieksa is a huge head scratcher to me.

The "internal CAP" is a huge head scratcher to me. I don't see how any team that wants to be a Cup contender can limit their spending while icing a team that's going to lift that Cup at the end of the season. You get what you pay for...

Yeah, it's fine to stay well below the cap when you are rebuilding, but when your team is a contender the organization has to spend to the cap.

The internal cap likely stood in the way but I never understood why there is one. Among the owners of the small market teams, Henry Samueli is easily one of the richest ones. It's probably going to cost us Sami Vatanen too. Losing Beleskey was a tough blow but I thought that his production could be replaced. Palmieri could never find a spot on any one line for any extended period of time. No chemistry with anybody anywhere he played.

I was okay with Beauchemin leaving, I felt it was time and I wanted them to give Manson his role. I was even okay with Bieksa coming in even if somewhat reluctant. Him getting 20-25 minutes per game is mental though. We have Theodore and Manson who are NHL ready and Montour who is not far off yet Murray has handcuffed us with the pretty bad Stoner contract and the far more horrible Bieksa contract.

Yeah, that's been my concern with Murray. On one hand, it's cool that he's so willing to deal and remodel; on another, how can you build any chemistry when people are in and out like a hotel, and why break something that doesn't really need fixing? Maybe ADD to last year's team but there was nothing fundamentally wrong with it other than running into the Hawks.

I still think the scoring will correct and pretty hard, but it is very strange to see a Brucey coached team not be able to find the net with a map.

Can't wait to see Kopitar set John Scott up for a hat trick for the Pacific All-Stars.

kopitar will not play. it was one of the main news in slovenian sports media today (well, behind peter prevc winning 4 hills tourney in ski jumping, that one took +90% of coverage). the general reaction in forums about kopi not playing was "who cares", all-star game lost a lot of appeal around here.
