That the front office doesn't believe we can compete and therefore are willing to take a "step back". Which is pretty wild thing to do less than a year after going all-in with the current core and spending a gazillion dollars in FA to make the push.

I think we will pretty much let it ride this season and dump assets at the deadline if things go sideways again before entering rebuild territory next offseason. I really dont expect anything this offseason

Watching the SCF's and a few other teams in the SCPO's just shows that the Preds have no business thinking they are a PO team. They are slow, not good at forecheck, not good at D and with a poor D the Goaltending suffers. So, GMBT's decision on the next season is to "run it back".

If I was an owner I would be asking him WTF are you doing! You wanted all of these players and said this would get us deep into the SCPO's. We spent millions on your players for what! And you answer for the next season is to "run it back"!

I would want to see what his future plan is for the team as an owner. If not for a winning/tie streak then Brunno has been the worst coach the team/GMBT has ever hired! The fans will drop off if the team falters early. Been a Pred since 2001 and it is killing me to see them treated like this.

True but nothing needle-moving in the pool as of now. This 5th OA could change that, obviously but there's a LONG way to go if we decide to go into a rebuild (which will be hard task on its own as you can't move several of players).

I almost posted this morning the things I've heard but didn't because sometimes people get annoyed with me when things don't 100% happen according to rumors.

The Josi diagnosis supports what I've heard: there's massive concerns in the org that Josi won't be able to play at the level he has been. They aren't looking to trade him, but limiting minutes etc next year may be a really real thing. I haven't heard anything about retirement.

Marchy I have heard is getting traded. 100%. TOR and MTL are frontrunners.

I take it they couldn't find a Jr. Hockey team that would take a flyer on Bruno as an assistant coach?

I expect you’re right on Marchy. All of the news we have heard about him seems like posturing, both from team and him. They don’t want to trade him, he only wants to go to few places, I call bs. Both sides know he has to go.

Also supports the idea of being Trotz possibly being willing to take a step back. Even Josi 100% healthy this team is pretty bottom of the barrel if he is injured this team for sure goes nowhere
