I mean he might not but it's looking like he's already given away one good player in Askarov for it.

As I said on the main board that I think there is a bit of a double standard going on. Askarov wanted out and the main boards didn't bat an eye. Nemec does for the same reason and suddenly people thinks it's bad form.

It happens when your team is in a doom spiral. Those guys become interesting because there's a thirst for higher-end future talent, and other than the draft the only other source is Distressed Assets.

They did on the very first occasion his name came up (during the 2023 draft when moving up was being explored) but by the time he got around to actually moving it was old hat. There were similar "we've heard the name before" considerations for Jiricek. By contrast, Nemec's name has not popped up before in this context.
