Super Saver -- The 2010 Kentucky Derby was run on a wet surface. The heavily bet colt went off at 8-to-1 down from a 15-to-1 morning line. He was sent off with the second lowest odds on the board only shorter than Lookin at Lucky at 6-to-1. The colt was the most recent Kentucky Derby to have lost his prior race (2nd in the Arkansas Derby) until Country House in 2019 (3rd in the Arkansas Derby). Super Saver finished his career at 13 6-4-2 and his lone time off the board was in his career finale which was the Breeders' Cup Classic in New Jersey.
Calvin Borel -- The Hall of Fame jockey won the Kentucky Derby for the third time in four years, no other rider has accomplished that feat. As described by race caller Tom Durkin immediately following the race "The unflappable Calvin Borel." He won earlier with Street Sense and Mine That Bird. About a month later, Borel joined Pat Day as the only jockeys to win 1,000 races at Churchill Downs.
Todd Pletcher -- The race that ended the Hall of Famer's struggle to win America's most prestigious race. It took a 25th attempt but Pletcher finally broke the jinx. He won a second Kentucky Derby with Always Dreaming. Pletcher is the 8th winningest trainer of all-time and is 105 victories shy of 5,000 in his legendary career.
WinStar Farm -- The famous silks and same owners as Triple Crown winner Justify. The individual who owns the racing and breeding farm is Kenny Troutt who founded a long distance telephone carrier that was eventually sold for multi-billions.
