I remember just a couple weeks ago when some Flames fans were crying about him even being put on waivers, now he’s headed back to Europe.

I thought that video had him smoking weed which is legal in CAN and a fair amount of US states

Was confused about the outrage since its common and a growing industry in CAN lol

Saw the white powder on my 2nd look at the video

I wonder if we ever reach the point where cocaine can be made available on public markets by government regulated entities.

Its a shit show for your health

This is fully a "play stupid games, win stupid prizes" situation, but you know that if Ruszicka was actually good, the Coyotes would be looking past this.
So true. Just wait until some kid playing around on his computer does a deep fake with McJesus appearing to do some blow and puts it out there. Would the Oil terminate his contract? Ummmm...probably not

On what basis can they terminate his contract?

Are they speculating about what that white powder might be? I thought we can't speculate?

To me it seems more appropriate that he would end up in the Player Assistance Program than have his contract terminated. NHLPA should appeal.

Ruzicka may have just been making an inappropriate joke

Yeah from my understanding of the CBA they can’t terminate his contract over that

I wonder if the actual act of using drugs alone would simply have been an issue for the player assistance program - but the act of making and sharing a video glorifying drug use goes beyond the bounds of punishment for substance use and into contract violation as conduct detrimental to the club and league.

Like the issue isn’t the drugs themselves which could be a player assistance issue, so much as the glorifying video which was a conscious public decision to make an embarrassing spectacle.

It wasn’t even like he inadvertently posted it pic with it in the background. Dumbass isn’t a strong enough word
