GM John Chayka does it again.

So he gets basically nothing for his holdout plus threats. Really soured the team on him for nothing. Way to go, kid. Fire your idiot agent.

Does what? What's he done? He took on salary to gain assets and re signed his own guys, any GM can do that

If every there was a post to show that someone doesn't know what they're talking about, this would be it.

Rieder finally smacked some sense into his agent it would seem.

Not sure why he thought he had any leverage. 37 point player who was a -21 (on a bad team, I know). Servicable player yes but not someone who should be holding out over 500k.

$2M first year then $2.45M second. That means he needs a 10% raise next time at least... but I suspect he'll be worth more next deal.

So Rider cried and sat out for nothing? Seems typical. Kid needs a new agent.

Who else is doing it though? Who else has landed a Lawson Crouse by eating a contract?

DeAngelo deal.

Moving up to get Chychrun who apparently will likely start this year in NHL and already scouts are saying they overscouted him (I was at U18's and the game I saw him play likely cost him 5-8 spots in the draft).

Signing Goligoski.

except they haven't proved anything

I'll anoint him a "genius" if the 'Yotes actually win

They are on the 2nd year of a rebuild ... You expect them to win the Stanley Cup this year ? Everyone who knows his hockey have been impressed by the moves he has made this summer. He is making moves and so far these have been good moves for a rebuilding team. No one is calling him a genius yet.
