Are we in Canada paranoid about 2026 or should we not be worried?

On A Personal Note :

Not many posters know this but I post from jail. It's not easy but I just got some wonderful news. The District Attorney greenlighted my resentencing earlier today. Looks like (my brother and) I may be getting out of prison VERY, VERY SOON!!!

Wish us luck! :)
I got a thumbs up on this post! Not sure if the poster got my joke or he took it seriously and was wishing me good luck getting out of prison. :) Either way, thank you @jigglysquishy. :)
I posted this in the other thread, but just to post it here:

Marchand-Crosby-MacKinnon
Lafrenière-McDavid-Bédard
Johnston-Point-Stone
Reinhart-Thomas-Marner

(Bennett, Byfield, Stankoven, Kyrou, Jarvis, Cirelli, Verhaeghe, Barzal, Hagel, Hyman, Scheifele)

Toews-Makar
Theodore-Pietrangelo
Morrisey-Harley(RH)

(Power, Guhle, Doughty,
Bouchard, Weegar, Dobson, Dunn, Parayko)

Binnington
Hill
(Skinner, Montembault)
Thanks, mang. Good team.

Montreals defense. We were talking about Montys numbers and I said he is playing behind a terrible defensive team.
Oh... Now I get it. I thought you were saying Team Canada's D was going to be terrible. My bad.
Thanks for clarifying. :)

And in other news Mcdavid goes out of the game tonight and Skinner let's in 3 goals on 6 shots.

The hockey gods are upset with us.
Small "g", please.

I have NO idea what is going on with Edmonton. Having said that, last year Edmonton started the same way and then went to the SCF.

Our / Canada's goaltending just keeps getting worse and worse.

There is no shortage of Canadians goalies in the NHL. However, none of them are very good.

Positives :

* Brandon Montour with a Natural Hat Trick.

* Sid with 3 assists.
* Dylan Strome with 2 assists.
* Mason McTavish with 2 assists.
* Jared McCann with 2 assists.

* Logan Thompson gave up 3 goals on 19 shots in the win against the NYR.

I hate C.B.'s team...

Yeah a few bizarre picks in that team.

They put up a defense + goaltending video too.

Toews-Makar
Morrissey-Bouchard
Theodore-Dobson
Tanev

Binnington - Hill - Montembault

My personal opinion is that having Bouchard on the team is silly. Makar is on the #1 PP guaranteed making Bouchard relatively unnecessary. Since it's a shorter "tournament" it's probably better to lean on chemistry + balance + big game experience to hit the ground running.

Toews-Makar
Morrissey-Dobson
Theodore- Pietrangelo

The goalies are fine and it probably comes down to pure luck on who catches on fire anyway.

Nice to see a Canadian from the 2019 draft excelling.

The goalies are fine
You have a kind soul. ;) I just wish it was true. The 3 listed above are probably our best options.
Unfortunately, Montembault and Binnington were lit up just last night.

Toews-Makar
Morrissey-Dobson
Theodore- Pietrangelo
I like yours. Like you said, if the chemistry is there, why mess with it. I'd bring either Drew Doughty or Thomas Harley as the 7th D-Man.

Truly is a best of the worst situation here.

We can only hope Binnington/Hill tap into their Stanley Cup winning experience for a few games. Otherwise our blood pressure is going to be through the roof anytime it's in Canada's end.

I have a soft spot for Doughty too. I always wanted him in the top 6 for Team Canada cause he's got that clutch factor and tenacity a team needs on the highest level.

They really should consider him for the 7th D spot.

Haven't been on this thread in a little while.. digging the 'stat watching'.
I don't know if I am not taking years off my life following it when every time new goalie performances are cited it's..........." goalie X gives up 5 goals on 7 shots"

These are not good times.

I'd be surprised if this is anything but a rumour.

Having said that I don't care if he wants out or not...............he needs to get his ass in gear.
Yes, I agree. He's too young to be making demands. Having said that, the team around him is AWFUL and he's not (yet) capable of carrying a teams so... get him some help!

Thanks! I am sure I will get bored with it eventually, but, until then...

From a Canada perspective, the bigger concern is whatever has McDavid out. He never takes time off and is a warrior. Stu has not looked good though... but Ingrim is playing very well. Talbot is looking solid but it is a bad start for Canuck goalies now that I look at the stats. nonetheless, you can put 2 or 3 Stanley Cup winning goalies in front of that D and F's and be fine.

Canadians would feel better if we KNEW someone, just ONE goalie, was going to be HOT come tournament tome - heck, we settle for "warm" at this point.

Doing this I've realized there is NO shortage of Canadian NHL goalies... they just all stink.
