lol, is this satire

This a cumulative stat kept over the year, for every second of a shift on the ice, with or without the puck. It’s the same stat used for all 700 players.

Yes what my elite analytical mind is thinking is we have such good speed stats on paper, because we don’t carry the puck as much as the other team.

What was the possession stats versus Anaheim, they had the puck like 65% of the time

This feels like the hit stat, you get lots of hits when you don’t have the puck. Stats looks good but actually is an indicator you are losing the game

They were great until Green got them playing his system. Now they just play a slow "prevent defense" game and its lame

Over Here
puck moves faster than any player and we don't move the puck fast.

so we are a fast team that is slow. need more playmakers.
Agree. I also think the Sens are chasing the play too often, so there's a burst of speed when they try to catch up. (Not Timmy so much, that guy is just legit fast. Gregor also uses his speed to good effect on the fore check.)

The team is kinda boring I’ll say that, it’s because they lack fire. I Think the opponents know to not engage Tkachuk and get him fired up because it fires the team up. You never see Tkachuk challenged now, and the team looks sleepy. They can’t generate their own fire because they don’t celebrate the little suffocating plays that go into being a winning team, they don’t like to play that way, and because they don’t celebrate the little suffocating plays they don’t win, and no wins means no emotion.

I think it’s very telling we are hopeful for a turn around because we saw Pinto anCousins play 1 inspired period of hockey in the last 15games There’s just no emotion on the team, there’s frustration and celebration, but there is no focused hunger to get onto the ice and f***ing get A+ on the coaches report card, the team is asleep

The stats for the Anaheim game would be interesting to observe.

I would like to see the puck possession stats too.

I also wonder what the various correlations are.

I still see a lot of puck watching in our D zone, and not enough "marking a man" being done.

Fast in burst and fast with the puck making plays is 2 completely different things
Jordan Stolz is really fast skater but probably not with a hockey puck

lol , this isn’t a team stat, even team wise possession numbers are about a 60/40 split best/worst over the season.

You realize the best possession player has the puck on his stick for 1-2 minutes a game. rest of the time is chasing as well.

25 games in looking at about 300-450 minutes of ice time per player,

Elite analytical mind, funniest thing you’ve written in a month.

Stats looks good but actually is an indicator you are losing the game
Correction this is funnier, has nothing to do with individual games.

I get where your word salad of nothingness is coming from from now:

you think Ottawa is a fast team and Anaheim is a supersonic team and San Jose is going at the speed of light. gotcha.

Pretty even, CF was 52/48 split ducks, everything else close to even.

You understanding is a total failure, player stat not TEAM stats were listed.

Top Bursts over 20mph is split 50/50 between non playoff and playoff teams

Does it matter?

I am almost positive that at season's end, the league looks at the total points a team has and the top 3 in any one division get in and the next 2 best teams in the conference join them in the playoffs.

Expected goals for, shot percentage from the slot, burst speed above 20 MPH, size of their dicks, and so on, DON'T seem to matter. The size of their dicks, seems to have hurt us the most. With The Euge, Dorion, et all being the biggest pricks, we would have been a sure fire playoff team.

Ws and Ls and OTLs!!!! and M.I.C.K.E.Y M.O.U.S.E does not enter. Even as Percentage!

Keep up the hype, distraction and spin. And season 8 is already bye-bye. Here is to the 2025/2026 season.

As long as the Kids are alright, though, I am okay.

Well, it maters in that if you identify something as a problem and addressing it as a potential solution to the results you are trying to achieve, you better be damn sure that it's actually a problem and not some fiction you've dreamed up in your head.

If we appear slow playing the game, but the reason isn't because our guys are actually slow, but rather because they are having to slow down to receive bad passes, then adding faster skaters won't help, getting better passers will.

If your house is cold, so you decide to buy a bigger furnace, but fail to consider it's your 50 year old windows leaking out all the heat you're current furnace is pumping in, what have you done?

I prefer more info available, vs less info, but to each their own.

Saved the cost of replacing the windows! :)

What's funny is that, when you read opposing team's GDTs, they will talk about Ottawa being fast.

I don't think we are particularly slow, but I do think we are particularly dumb, particularly in our own zone, at the ends of periods or right after a goal is scored.
