If you had been paying attention you would've seen what happens when you take penalties. Let em "goon" it up, watch em fall.
Flyers were gooning it up near the end of the game. Can the rangers withstand the flyers toughness?

I'm not sure the Flyers played tough. The Rangers matched the physicality at the start of the game and never seemed intimidated at any point in the game.
The coaches will need to make the call here. If they feel the team is getting intimidated, they will want to put Carcillo in the lineup together with Dorsett. Have the two of them beat up any Flyer who is intimidating any skill players, let them know not to bother our guys.
But as long as nobody is intimidated, we are ok.

As others have said, it's all about discipline. The Flyers played "tough" and took stupid penalties. Our guys handled themselves just fine and didn't shy away from physical contact.
Nice thread, Mint. Try laying it on a little thicker next time to get it locked.
500% disagree with this.
Boyle - Moore - Dorsett is a legitimate ELITE 4th line. They control the puck way more than they give up chances. I have absolutely no interest in breaking them up. And nobody else needs to be sat just so Carcillo can take a dumb retaliation penalty.
I'll stick with the team that won 4-1 thank you very much.

Would be good if 1) you read what I wrote; and 2) understood "if - then" sentences.
The Rangers are tough enough to handle the Flyers. They skate, hit and can stand up to this version of the Flyers. The Bruins are the only team with skill and toughness the Rangers can't match in the East. Dorsett can easily match up with Rinaldo. Even though he rarely goes, Klein can handle Simmonds in a fight. The Schenn sisters are a joke. Don't quite the get hype of the big bad Flyers, 1975 was a long time ago.
If game 2 goes like game 1 maybe we should dress Carcillo for game 3 in Philly, keep him on the bench. Get in their minds, create the illusion the game is gonna be about bruisers, but still play the same as the first two games, let the Flyers break that threshold like they did last night.
