Had one of the easier schedules to start the season (average opponent ranked in the bottom 3rd of the league).

Their huge lead in points has dwindled down to nothing. Now just another team in the hunt within a stacked Metro division.

Surprisingly below average at home - away record seems unsustainable.

Now they have one of toughest remaining schedules in the league. Not that anyone's schedule is easy or hard with today's parity.

Do you still consider them a top-5 team? Or are they settling as just another good team? Or, are they totally self-destructing?

...I think this is our cue to say something snarky about this being why Gaudreau didn't pick them? I'm not sure, I don't know how this trolling about months-old free agency decisions thing works.

But in all seriousness, I don't believe they're cooked just because of a bad streak.

They’re probably still great. Most really good teams still have losing streaks in a season. Much of their core is still young which makes it more likely.

They'll be fine. The season is long and winning streaks are usually accompanied by losing streaks. I'm sure some expert on here will call them paper tigers, but take that with a laugh.

Dominated the Flyers, and slightly outplayed the Rangers. Didn't see the Stars game.

Not sure how much you trust in moneypuck but there you go. Not taking anything from the Stars but the Devils were the better team in that game, that was probably their biggest toss up game from this losing streak. Their luck from the W13 is coming back to bite them in this L4.
