I could easily say you are more of a fan of pansy hockey instead of winning given your investment in this soft as butter core. That wouldn’t be correct though right?
Like most people, I'm a fan of hockey and winning. Unnecessarily giving players lifelong health complications for no benefit and then losing doesn't interest me.
And of course I'm going to support our team and players, and enjoy having a top tier core that makes hockey better and our chances of winning higher.

This had nothing to do with what I said but I agree with your general post here.

I don’t think a throwback enforcer like Reaves is necessary for all teams nowadays. However for the Leafs it is essential.

I personally believe there’s always a need, however nowadays teams like the Bruins who are overall pretty tough and stand up for one another don’t need a designated “goon”. You can get away with a Greer or Foligno who will go if absolutely necessary. Which we tried in years past with Simmonds. Wasn’t cutting it, every team out there had a guy who could go with Simmonds (win or lose). Simmonds was a great fighter technically, but he wasn’t very intimidating.
Agree, but I hope he can also challenge the stars in the room if they show lack of commitment to the Leafs.
I love AM and WN, but there are times both show lack of interest. WN is worse but maybe AM will feel less intimidated and use his legs like he use to.

The hit showed the willingness of both players to battle for a loose puck in a crucial moment in a crucial playoff game.

We’ve seen current Leafs pull up in easier situations which shows a different mindset between players that will do whatever it takes to win, and guys that wont.
You'd think the example would be something brave and aggressive that actually led to a playoff game win or big goal by the Leafs. There are things like that from that era such as Gary Roberts singlehandedly dominating a shift leading to a big goal. Instead we've got this incident that has a certain undercurrent of sadism celebrating head trauma rather than some other act of bravery and strength that actually led to team success rather an opponent's injury.

This is just an example of two guys investing in the process and not willing to give an inch. Had Kappy given up on the play who know what would have happened, but he didn’t and they went on to win.
