Are the Kings the biggest frauds?

About to lose four straight playoff series vs Edmonton. What do they all have in common? They choked in every series.

Let's hope next year, they don't get the Oilers again. It's in their heads now.
They're not as good as the Oil man. Why make a thread. Kings probably wipe every other team in the West , other than Dallas/Colorado. They are legit good, running into the McDrai machine.

Kings have blown massive leads in every single game this series except tonight. LA is definitely choking this one away
Oilers handed Kings leads in every single game in this series except tonight (and gave them 2 freebies starting Stuart Skinner). Edmonton is definitely allowing LA to be in this series.

Kopitar is pretty old now, so is Doughty, and someone like Fiala isn't someone I would trust my fortune in if the going got even moderately tough, I can say that much...

Tuned into one of their games in the third period and their bottom two defensemen had played something like 2 minutes and 5 minutes. Yeah, that's a recipe for a long and successful playoff run to run your best defensemen to the ground in the first four games of the first round.

Series ain't over but of course nobody is going to give the oilers credit on here. They lost by a goal in game 7 to the champs last year, and they've only lost to teams that have gone on to win it all in the last 3 years.

Kings are a very good team but it's similar to Toronto when they were playing Tampa so frequently a few years back. They'll eventually slay the dragon and they still have a chance this year.

If the Oilers beat a team they're instantly labeled frauds. Thats just how it works

3 of the 4 years Edmonton was the higher seed and expected to win. This year is a little bit different as LA came into the series favored, but there was still only 4 points separating them. Last year was the only year where the series wasn't really close.

I think everyone is questioning what Hiller is doing though. LA looked pretty damn good through games 1 and 2, but you have to play the guys that got you here. There's no way LA gets 105 points in the regular season rolling 3 lines and 2 D pairings. Shortening the bench might win you a game, but you can't do it for an entire 7 games series without completely running the rest of the team into the ground.

It's weird to be advocating for a coach to be fired after a 105 point season, but I think should the Kings lose this series they should.

They have a great top 9 and top 4 but their coach overplays all 13 of those guys and has no confidence in the 4th line and bottom pairing defence which boggles my mind. Does anyone know why he has so little confidence in his bottom 5 skaters?? There’s clearly a big gap between the 3rd and 4th lines but I don’t why basically not playing Spence and Clarke was ever a good idea in a long playoff series where the top 4 guys are consistently going to matching against Drai and McDavid. And if bottom pairing D was such an issue for Hiller why didn’t Blake get another D at the deadline?? Seems like there’s a disconnect between management and coaching cause no team ever won a cup playing their bottom 5 skaters so little.

Nice jinx attempt.

Yup, Kings were one of the best teams down the stretch and bosses at home.
If they are frauds then Flames, CBJ or whatever the OP cheers for are scums of NHL.

They showed what they can do in games 1 and 2. Might have run out of gas but they have had a great year.

Only to people that don't watch them regularly. Every Kings fan that's paying attention knew they were underdogs in this series and their performance during the regular season was meaningless because they don't match up well against the Oilers. Some fans may have felt some hope when up 2-0, but it was a fool's hope. The only game the Kings have played well in was game 2. They got lucky in game 1, the only reason this series isn't over right now.

Quite the fraud-off we're having definitely. They were a Quinton Byfield peewee mistake away from going up 3-1, simply have to make that play. They have an OK team but Hiller really looks like he has no idea what he's doing. The Kings haven't won a playoff series since they fired Darryl Sutter, and they fired Darryl Sutter quite a while ago now.

No...? Some people just never learn when it comes to Edmonton. When their team is healthy, they are near unstoppable offensively.

Why is it so hard for those people to just give credit to one team instead of trashing the other? Oh wait, I know why, talking shit is more fun.

No, not even close. Lead the series and out played them at times, blew the series in 3 and 4 due to poor coaching. The challenge changed eveything, Hiller choosing to go to a 1-3-1 prevent defense with the lead in games 3/4. Tonight they were flat, and couldn't put two clean passes together all night. But also, EDM played their best game of the series and never let the Kings find space, you can't deny that. .

The Kings are absolute losers.

They lost the leadership from the cup runs like Williams and Richard's.

Kopitar and Doughty and company are all bonafide losers. They all collectively gave up as a team up 2 in game 4. This is the biggest collection of loser players in the NHL.

Kings are a good defensive team, the negative is they are defensive team and only average offensively. So in the playoffs they’re going to win mainly via defence and at times offence will dry up making it very hard to win. Good team, but they aren’t perfect.

I think people just underrate how good the Oilers are.

Not this year

They are back to being 2 man team, their game plan is to ask McDavid/Drai do magic and win the game

Defensively they look worse than last year, goaltending is a bigger mystery than last year, bottom9 is worse than last year

Majority of HF seemed to be doubting the Oilers coming into these playoffs...and I just don't see it.

I knew McDavid, Draisaitl and Bouchard would explode again. They've had the luxury of coasting most of the season, just waiting for the playoffs. They are prime and ready to do their best. And they have delivered insane performances the last few playoffs, so it's not surprising to see it again.

LA....is just facing a very difficult opponent.

Oilers are going to win the cup this year.

Not sure you can say they’re frauds when they just do the same thing every year. 8 and 11 out of gas by Game 4 of the 1st round like clockwork. If you thought this year was gonna be different that’s on you.

There’s a narrative that gets floated every year by Blake-stanning homers that the Kings are actually a great contender that is getting massively unlucky to draw McDavid every year. No one should be buying this. There’s a reason that the majority of us have been clamoring for Rob and Luc’s firing going on 3 offseasons now.

It’s hilarious that most of you thought those chokers are somehow going to win Oilers now. They never will, we have seen this so many times. Kings always just settle to play those high-scoring games with Oilers instead of locking the Defense and thats why they will never win.

Here is your annual free pass to second round, Oilers.

Odd time for this post after a game that the Oilers thoroughly dominated offensively and defensively and the only contributes they got from McDavid/Drai were assists on the ENG.

Like MANY on this site. I am looking at the challenge of the Kane goal and went--what on earth is he thinking?! That was a game changer. Oilers came to life and smelled blood

The two played well, though. The Oilers controlled the game right from the beginning and obviously those two were a big part of the reason for that.

But yes, you do have to give the depth and supporting guys credit for their play in that game.
