Every year this thread comes up, and I say no, but this year I think they’re legit.
Called it.A weak schedule has really helped the Jets good start, I expect the regression to start any time now.
we beat colorado, dallas, nyr then lose to tampa who we beat once already and now florida, but congrats... you called it! the jets didn't going 81-1!Called it.
Haven't lost to a Western Conference team yet. But they have a tough road trip, after playing the defending champs at home, starting in Pitt, going through Nashville, to Minnesota, then on to Vegas and L.A before ending in Dallas. 6 games in 4 different time zones in 10 nights.Panthers fans were correct in chanting “overrated” at them.
And I actually like the Jets but they’re not doing anything in the playoffs unless they add a 2C and a defenseman before the deadline.
Looked pretty handled Tuesday night.Jets can't handle the Atlantic
I know that's the easy assumption but it doesn't always work out.Panthers fans were correct in chanting “overrated” at them.
And I actually like the Jets but they’re not doing anything in the playoffs unless they add a 2C and a defenseman before the deadline.
I love the narrative of the Jets being bad in the playoffs.Panthers fans were correct in chanting “overrated” at them.

November 26th and the Jets are still first overall at 18-4......
Kaprizov was really good. He was like a Mackinnon lite out there. Helly was just better.Wild played well last night, several times had the Jets on rollerskates. Didn't matter, 4-1 win and Hellebucyk was incredible. Anyone who thinks the Jets aren't for real is not paying attention.
Let's not forget about one of the more effective 4th lines in the game. Are the Jets going go till the end of the season in 1st OA place, of course not. No team is as good or bad as people think, but the Jets have totally bought into the new coaching systems, beliefs and while I wasn't originally a huge fan of Scott A hire, he is finally a coach who is using the players to their strengths unlike most coaches who try to force players into roles which aren't often the right fit for them. I don't consider the Jets as the top cup contender, but anyone thinking they are a fake team or based purely on luck haven't watched them play. No super stars at forward or on D, but many very good players (maybe the best 3rd line in the NHL) and a very deep team with a elite goalie. Easily a top 10 team. But as we all know, when playoffs come it all depends which team/goalie peaks at the right moment is the most dangerous thats why GM's just want to get into the playoffs and roll the dice and hope for the best in their team. One step at a time, reg season first, make the playoffs and then tweak the team as required to fill injuries, add vets, see how the kids develop and see how it goes. Fun ride
Hellebuyck was in insane-o mode last night.Kaprizov was really good. He was like a Mackinnon lite out there. Helly was just better.
Josh Morrissey is probably playing like a top 5 D no?Are the Jets going go till the end of the season in 1st OA place, of course not. You are misremembering the series. Georgiev did play pretty well, but you guys didn't get goalied. You got obliterated outside of a few periods. It wasn't even close.I love the narrative of the Jets being bad in the playoffs.
were they? Sure against Colorado they were less than perfect...
BUT.
Colorado had a goaltender who is , lets face it, an AHL goalie, stand on his head and play .957 SV% hockey over the last 4 games of the series. As soon as he got cold the next round? The Avs were out.
a .907 career goalie reg season and playoffs.. stood on his head.
I'm not saying the Jets were dominant or even "good" in that series....
but the Jets were in those games...Face off percentages giveaway takeaway Powerplay%, hits, blocked shots... the Jets were competitive..
.and had Georgieve not had the games of his life? say he plays like he does almost every other game he plays? the jets grab one here or there and suddenly it's Colorado that have to chase the games....
I honestly think the Jets are facing the Oil in the conference final....
it's not that the Jets were that bad...it's that Georgiev had a horseshoe up his A$$!
At this very moment, that’s pretty accurate. Especially at his contract. Top 10 for sure even if he cools off some. Superstar if he played in a bigger market.Josh Morrissey is probably playing like a top 5 D no?
Yep. This is (sadly) how I remember it too. Colorado's team speed destroyed the Jets. You are misremembering the series. Georgiev did play pretty well, but you guys didn't get goalied. You got obliterated outside of a few periods. It wasn't even close.
Haha, this right here. Giving up 28 goals in 5 games is not getting goalied, it's getting dominated. You are misremembering the series. Georgiev did play pretty well, but you guys didn't get goalied. You got obliterated outside of a few periods. It wasn't even close.
