I like this player but he is not a replacement for a culture of being tough and finishing checks. The team is full of soft players who are easy to play against and Arber. This issue has plagued Montreal for a long time and we still wont draft mean/tough players.

Florian Xhekaj, Thorpe, Protz, Tuch are soft players?

First you need to build a base of talent. Our team was both soft and talentless for a long long time. I prefer going for talent first.

When you watch that talent get absolutely smashed and the injuries start piling up do you still enjoy it? It's gonna be a lot of fun bringing Demidov in next year and seeing how long before people start running him because we have a token tough guy and the rest of the team has no teeth. Remember when we had Laraque and he would have his staged fight but the rest of the team wouldn't finish a check? This team hasn't be tough to play against in ages and it doesn't look like it will ever change.

Being soft is a big part of Gorton's team building reputation

Slafkovsky seems to buck the trend. But you won't see me disagree that the team needs to play with a lot more nastiness.

Habs need at least another X on the back and 2 up front. And a couple of Matt Cookes. This IS the game... pretending that chip shotting isn't part of it is ludicrous. So yes, Sam Bennets and Matt Cookes likes is what this team needs. And more Arbers. I mean they are not making anything anyway... so why not go out with at least some fireworks.

Some (much older) folks on here are lucky to remember the team that wouldn't be pushed over and bullied by... (puke) f***ing leafs.

Neutral fan dropping in…Kudos to Arber for jumping Paré and beating him up.
Exactly what you need for such a dirty move.
Who cares the refs are already in playoff mode…you need to beat the shit out of him…pardon my french.
Maybe go hunting their best goal scorer in the next game?

Thank god for Arber. The only one that stand up for anybody on this soft team.

The only one who brings a identity to a identity-less team. That start from the management team.
Habs are softish, but let us not forget Struble is not someone other teams take liberty with. More sandpaper needed!

Did St-Louis reasly said he was not on board with what Xhekaj did?

What a f***ing softie. He hate toughness and hate anything that goes with it. Bad coach and his team
Has no identity.

Would love to coach a team full of Farrell.

Stupid coach.

Arber to Anderson.

Also, the league probably wouldn't be looking to make an example of Andy, whereas Arber is going to get skewered. Gomez did more to Chara after the stanchion incident than Raggedy Andy did to Pare. Just think about that.

Hell, Brisebois did more to Mclaren!

No, they got it right. The players who play the actual game are gonna be siding one way on this, and it's not the way you think.
The players who play the game are mostly uneducated idiots with a bunch of concussions who don't care about their own well being.

Xhekaj should've been suspended.
