I didn’t realize it in real time because I was pumped he scored, but after re-watching Slaf’s first goal, Xhekaj helps cause it and sends a message at the same time.

After Slaf took the high hit from Josh Brown, Xhekaj skates in from the point and pastes Brown into the boards, effectively taking him out of the play. Slaf stays at the blueline, steals the pass and with time and space rifles his first (of hopefully many more to come). After the goal Slaf is píssed and has words for Brown, while Xhekaj also comes in from the point, yelling at Brown while pointing at Slaf and tells him to go physically have relations with himself.




Great stuff. I don’t see how they could ever send him down, he gives this team a swagger they didn’t have before.

Now, he must be careful, the Lucic, Reaves might come knocking and he doesn’t have to answer. Not for a rookie, at least.

But strenght wise, he can’t of remind me of Lucic. I remember Lucic at 19 years old, coming into the league and toying big seasoned heavyweight. Very rare.

He's earning the trust of his coaches big time. Even though he sat in the penalty box for 5 mins tonight, he still set a career high in ice time with 17:40 worth of ice and was a +1, 5 pims, 3 sog and 3 hits.

His ice time total has increased more each game... 12:47, 14:02, 15:05, 15:59 and now 17:40

I'm trying to remember the last time I got excited watching a hockey fight and nothing comes up lol, probably somewhere in the mid 2000's when it was still the norm to see them. It's been ages since we've had that kind of presence on the team, feels good man.

And more importantly, this kid can play and has top 4 potential. He'll fight from time to time, that's one aspect of his game, but he'll never be a nuisance out there unlike some of the talentless goons that were on this team 20 years ago. Very nice.

And more importantly, this kid can play and has top 4 potential. He'll fight from time to time, that's one aspect of his game, but he'll never be a nuisance out there unlike some of the talentless goons that were on this team 20 years ago. Very nice.

If we don’t have a tough guy our other players need to face clowns like Kassian anyways. He’s already fought with Pezzetta and Chiarot.

Yeah that's one of those moments for sure, when he broke that guy's face with aluminum foil on his fist lol, in 2006 vs Colorado if I remember correctly. Souray was one mean, tough sob. Loved him.

I certainly would have no problem if he goes to the AHL, but I don’t know either that he’s going anywhere. They let him get his apartment. After preseason they haven’t hinted they intended to send him down.

He's a beautiful, beautiful f***ing savage, and we all love it. Even those who preach brotherly love. ESPECIALLY those who preach brotherly love. Jackeye protects his brothers. What a gem! What a find!

Loved loved him, still do to this day. He could have been captain of this team.

I certainly would have no problem if he goes to the AHL, but I don’t know either that he’s going anywhere. They let him get his apartment. After preseason they haven’t hinted they intended to send him down.

Mtl and Laval are 20 mins away by metro. Probably would have gotten the same apartment either way.
