Yeah he looks great out there. He's playing better than every defenceman not named Hutson, what a turnaround.

That's more of an indictment on how bad our D is but still, great progression from this guy, very encouraging.

I suggest X just carry Hutson in a back pack when they are in our zone. At least he knows that he's in a PK situation.

Then when he hits the opposing blueline, let Hutson drop and roll...

Plants vs Zombies video game has/had a giant zombie who carries a little zombie on his back that he catapults over your front lines to attack from the rear. No reason it can't work in the NHL

I felt sorry for X last night. He was the only one who showed up in mind and spirit.

He must be pissed at all those around him who just work hard enough not to be the target of the coach...but don't give a f...

I'm not big on this kind of stuff to be honest, but last night would have been a good game for Xhekaj to remind the Blue Jackets there would be consequences with how they were targeting Laine (which was overtly obvious).

But I suppose with Olivier on their bench, maybe it just wasn't a winning proposition....

Laine put himself in trouble, own your actions

I actually lost some respect for him after this. Hopefully some vets have a talk with him.
Um, besides Savard, maybe Matheson, but who else is working on year 10 in the NHL like Laine ? Guy is as veteran as it gets for us.

Hughes and MSL need to speak with him though because that stuff fires up another team and is stupid. If they pulled him because of being targeted we have just told every team how to neutralize him , especially post season.

I think he was legit hurt on that hit he was totally unprotected while reaching up for a puck.
It looked like the brunt of the impact was in the shoulder area and I'm also not sure how a repaired clavicle would feel after that.

X has played for 15 minutes the last 3 games. The lowest of all defenseman.

Carrier the Saviour has played more minutes and -1

Math is not adding up. Played 26 minutes and -2

So our biggest, meanest, toughest, most defensive defenseman is playing less then everyone else BECAUSE?

Does SMarty have a fetish fear of big guys?

SMarty is lucky he doesn't have a Addict X because he would be in SMarty face with a very simple...PLAY ME OR TRADE ME. That or...next scrimmage, accidentally send Carrier into the sea...oops.

Yeah it sounds like Im assuming he wasnt hurt and they just took him out because maybe he was targeted. Worry all around then. Those last contacts were touches, not hits. Hope he is okay, and he does need to shut up.

Nice to see the big man turning the corner and getting his game going again.
Not surprised one bit.
We've already seen Xhekaj play near perfect games in the past even before getting sent back to Laval.
They were not regular happenings but he showed he could do it.
Some times I have to remind myself Just how far the lad has come.
We have to let the Kid dominate his space that is his game chasing players all over the place is not.

I've given up trying to understand what we are hoping to accomplish with our D strategy and deployment.
It hasn't made sense these past two seasons but it got a free pass because we are rebuilding.
Only now that we want more meaningful games later into the schedule have people starting asking questions.
At what point can we say we are building but just not very well I mean that right side is a disaster? :dunno:
