Bring back Deslauriers or transform Arber into a winger. If we lose him, we don't lose a stud D.
Habs need someone on the 4th line who can help offset these stupid fights

If Arber can’t get his defensive game in order within the next 2 years, he may just have to switch to a 4th liner just to stay in the league.Bring back Deslauriers or transform Arber into a winger. If we lose him, we don't lose a stud D.
I used to be completely against the idea of Arber as a forward, and still think the most likely outcome is he develops into a really good defenseman, but in the Spittin Chicklets interview he said he actually was playing forward his first year in junior. Thought that was interesting. If Arber can’t get his defensive game in order within the next 2 years, he may just have to switch to a 4th liner just to stay in the league.
I've been suggesting for a while.Bring back Deslauriers or transform Arber into a winger. If we lose him, we don't lose a stud D.
I think most of us would rather Arber not fight Reaves, for that exact reason, we lose a Dman and they lose nothing really........Reaves is a waste of a roster spot.I can be confortable a 3rd pairing of Arber and Struble. But Arber and Barron, no thanks.
A fight Arber vs Reaves, 50%-50% who wins the fight.
The consequences : If Arber lose the fight or get injured (hand, shoulder, etc), Habs lose a 6th defenceman who is the only enforcer and a player who brings something related of playing hockey. ( )
If Leafs lose Reaves, they don't care, Reaves is nothing in their depth except fighting.
So every time there is that kind of fight, I cross my fingers. First I want Arber to kick @s but I don't want him injured. Fight might be so-so, as long as Arber is not injured. He can play the next game.
Or put Xhekaj on teh 4th line

Yeah Bob Hartley raised the same possibility. Losing a D for 5 minutes every time there is a fight is a lot more impactful to a team than a 4th liner.I've been suggesting for a while.
We'd a much better team with him at LW and Matheson, Guhle, Hutson and Struble taking turns on LD.
tell that to hughes

Then X plays what... 5-6 minutes a night? And we have who on D instead - Barron?Or put Xhekaj on teh 4th line

Pezz is there and he's always willing to fight.Hughes better understand that quickly ffs.
It's been 3 years. I think chances are slim.Hughes better understand that quickly ffs.

Yeah, they've showed no desire to pick players of that ilk in the draft.. and haven't targeted players with size when necessary, either.
It will get addressed.. they aren't going to pick up Imama who can't play in the NHL just on the off chance a face has to be punched.
Those are details or another discussion. I agree with Hartley that if you have a goon, it should probably be a forward. Then X plays what... 5-6 minutes a night? And we have who on D instead - Barron?
One thing I know about Reaves is that he fears no player.Reavo was given the invitation to go but he declined. Was it the wish of his coach or did he decide not to poke the bear?
But, Arber crosschecked him and stood back with an invitation to go and he ignored it. It was a telling moment for me.One thing I know about Reaves is that he fears no player.
Good point. Arber is fearless. He needs to be paired with Savard! But, Arber crosschecked him and stood back with an invitation to go and he ignored it. It was a telling moment for me.
