First is impressive but doesn’t mean what it normally would. We have no context since we don’t play the rest of the league. Four separate worlds and without playing any of them it’s hard to say we’re better than any of the others. We can suspect we’d do well but it’s all speculation.

On the plus side we’ve done pretty well against the other two good teams so people can’t say we’re merely beating up the bottom feeders in our division.

Bragging like we’re actually the best team in the NHL wouldn’t feel quite right this year.
