True, game 3 and 4 were quite different. Game 3 we got outplayed pretty thoroughly, got quite lucky to win. Game 4 started out terribly, we got dominated in the 1st period, but when Keefe made the line changes early in the 2nd things switched. The 2nd was pretty even, and we did dominate the 3rd and OT.

Still, it was a miraculous comeback - we were down 4-1 with ~10 mins left, it's extremely, extremely rare you win games in those situations. If we were consistently outplaying Tampa, had games well under control, I'd get the "don't change a thing" mentality from Keefe. But we aren't, there was a huge amount of luck involved in the game 3 and 4 wins, and overall Tampa have outplayed us at even strength in games 3 and 4 combined. I personally think we should be looking to change things, at least a bit (e.g. Holl out/Lily in, and ZAR out/Bunting in).

The playoffs are too important to be playing a less-than-our-best lineup, and I do think that's what Keefe is doing right now with Holl over Lily, and ZAR over Bunting.
He's playing with fire right now doing this. The Leafs are up 3-1 so it hasn't burned him yet. The Leafs could easily be the ones down 3-1 in this series w diff luck. If the Leafs advance to the 2nd round he can't pull this stuff against the Bruins. Giving a freebie win to a team like the Bruins like he did in game 1 vs the Bolts is the difference between putting them away in game 6 vs losing in game 7. Put the best Leaf team out there, no more galaxy-brain stuff.

My boys are 18 and 20. Neither of them remember the Leafs winning.
Same.

My 18 year old University son and 14 year old son know nothing but missed playoffs and painful eliminations.

It's a wonder they are Leaf fans to be honest, and I have had to fight long and hard for their Leaf souls.

I want to see the Leafs win as much for my son's being true Blue fans, as well as for myself to be honest.

They have more than paid their dues and deserve to get some of the high's that we enjoyed in the '90's and early 2000's.

I'm expecting an extremely difficult game, especially if Tampa scores early.
What I'm fearing most is now that Leafs have a cushion in the series that they decide to play it real safe. don't take a lot of chances and try and squeeze out a win.

But we all know sitting back and letting the opposition dictate the play is often a bad idea unless your a team that is very comfortable playing that style regularly.

Even this series its been more outscoring their own play and needing lots of goals to win against a goalie that generally considered among the best in the World.

Right now it feels like we're in control, however a loss today and Leafs are right back to where they were last year up 3-2 and heading back to TB for game #6.

Hopefully Leafs play a strong game and put this away today, or I fear we will be looking and sweating out a game #7 in the series again.

Vasi is neither the reason we are winning or the roadblock to us closing the series. A lot has been made about his play, but Cooper is right, their defending is the actual problem for them.

I know people point to last year games 6 & 7 and expect Vasi to go god mode, but he’s simply not insulated like he usually has been and the Leafs score differently than they did last year. For example we lead the playoffs in screened shots for

the leafs should play this game like it's home-and-home soccer, total goals and they need to win by 4 to advance

In the present discourse, I shall elucidate the rationale underpinning the supposition that the Toronto Maple Leafs shall emerge triumphant over the Tampa Bay Lightning in the forthcoming Game 5 of their current competitive engagement. This assertion is predicated upon a multifarious analysis, incorporating both quantitative and qualitative variables pertinent to the performance of each respective athletic collective.

Foremost, an examination of the Leafs' strategic deployment of personnel, as evidenced by their synergistic utilization of lines and defensive pairings, indicates a predilection for adaptability, responsiveness, and tactical acuity. This, in conjunction with their proclivity for employing an aggressive forecheck and proficient puck possession, facilitates the cultivation of scoring opportunities and attenuates the likelihood of conceding goals.

Additionally, the Leafs' roster boasts a cadre of elite-level talents, encompassing both offensive and defensive specialists. The confluence of their individual aptitudes for scoring, playmaking, and defensive prowess coalesces to engender an overarching competitive advantage over their adversaries. Furthermore, the Leafs' netminder has demonstrated exceptional proficiency in the execution of his duties, yielding a formidable bulwark against the Lightning's offensive advances.

The Tampa Bay Lightning, while indubitably formidable in their own right, have exhibited certain vulnerabilities, particularly in the realms of special teams and defensive zone coverage. The Leafs' capacity to exploit these susceptibilities, as manifest in their power play efficiency and prowess in generating high-danger scoring chances, shall prove instrumental in the realization of their anticipated victory.

In summation, it is posited that the Toronto Maple Leafs' amalgamation of strategic mastery, roster depth, and superlative individual performances will coalesce to yield a favorable outcome in tonight's contest, thus vanquishing the Tampa Bay Lightning in Game 5.
