Im vomiting. How the hell can you compare garbage to a solid top 9 winger? He's like Desharnais for the Canucks. A double agent. This is my conspiracy until he proves me otherwise.

I don't get the J. Skinner love. He doesn't battle hard or do too much out there. We could probably debate that a 4th line of Brown, Janmark, Skinner might be better than dressing Podkolzin, Perry or an injured Frederic but at this point it's a pretty even debate for all the listed players.
The fact people are bitching this hard about J.Skinner getting scratched for Kane shows they are not in true touch with reality or don't full understand the game.
It is true that Jeff Skinner has gotten the short end of the stick this year, but it's not like he's very good.
MAYBE WE CAN PUT THE OTHER SKINNER IN NETS?If Kane plays, I hope he runs Skinner in the pregame warm ups.
Several of Smith's Game 1s were ridiculously bad, leading to the notion the team is terrible in Game 1s, but he tended to be good in Game 2 and 3, with setbacks in Games 4 and 5, then great again in Game 6 and 7 (though minuscule sample size)

If true and Skinner shits the bed we may well have just put the final nail in our cup aspirations this season all of 2 games into the playoffs. IF he does start, he better be on a choke chain not a f***ing leash.

Anyone curious about Skinner, here's his breakdown. Generally poor Game 1s as well, and strangely better in even numbered games than odd numbered games.

I'd rather have skinner then pods or arvidsson. I get it off wing but can't be any worse then those 2 pylonsI'd rather have Kane playing. He has playoff experience and, if he comes in fully healed, he is much better than Skinner
You would have to think first round exit puts MANY peoples jobs on the lineSelfishly there is a tiny part of me that just wants Skinner to get absolutely ran over this playoffs so they actually go out and acquire a goalie.
The other large majority of me just hopes he goes on one of the insane short-term runs he's been known to go through, and we just deal with the fact management will think he's adequate for the remaining years of Drai/McDavids primes.
Painful that management even puts the first thought in my head.
You make lots of good points, Arvy has been a lot better lately though.People rip on Arvidsson for falling over all the time, but that's Skinner too. He skates with a high centre of gravity so he falls over all the time when there's a quick transition or he gets pushed. Although it should have been a penalty, his falling over this way directly lead to goal 2 against. He also can't take a quick stride without raising his arms, leading to more turnovers.
As you say, I am not against playing him and would probably be fine with him replacing Podkolzin or Frederic (who also both sucked in Game 1). It really just ins't the end of the world or as big a deal as many make it out to be. He's a limited one dimensional player.
Connor aint leaving, but in reality JJ and bowman could. What a bad offseason. (worse than Holland who was not good)You would have to think first round exit puts MANY peoples jobs on the line
Amd in all serious could really jeopardize and make Conor think twice about re-signing with us and really couldnanyone blame him
Jeff SKinner is not better than Arvy. I don't really know how this narrative has startedI'd rather have skinner then pods or arvidsson. I get it off wing but can't be any worse then those 2 pylons
Crazy part is ee seem to really flip the switch when Pickard comes in when Skinner is pulledUgh, this team never learns. So yay, we'll be down 0-2 when we should have pulled Stu in the second period of game 1.
I'd be willing to bet Bowman starts looking for another coach when Connor signs. You would have to think first round exit puts MANY peoples jobs on the line

The general eye test amd statistically he is better. When you account in linemates as well as TOI between the 2 and the gap widens for skinnerJeff SKinner is not better than Arvy. I don't really know how this narrative has started
We clearly need Arvy to be better, but he has shown promise.
I don't get it either. Like I said on ice for 3GA in the first game in his first 7mins of play. Thats loathsome. he was even elevated with McD for half of his minutes and not a sniff. Oilers didn't get clicking until they punched McDrai and Perry has been MUCH more effective with those two even at age 40. If theres ever an indictment on J Skinner its that Perry is cleaning up well.I don't get the J. Skinner love. He doesn't battle hard or do too much out there. KK doesn't get much credit but pushing McD button late in 2nd period was a possible gold strike. The furied Kings had spent the first two periods desperately trying to stop everything and expending so much energy. So that in effect we paired a relatively rested McDrai at the point where the Kings were tiring. It was some 4D, great timing actually. Will Mcdavid and Leon be playing together to start the game?
I do not get how you could not do this after how they looked last game?
Pros:
-LA kings cant zero in on one of them
- They don't have to work as hard/ get less attention
- Maybe we can get a lead and split them so we don't have to play from behind.
- Less chance they get hurt or beat up playing together
We literally don't have the Wingers to split them.
If we don't play them together after last game then I don't really know anymore
Kane and
No chance they bring Savoie up.Kane and Savoie maybe?
There is a reason Skinner gets scratched and that is because he is not good at hockey. Terrible signing that cost us our young tallentThe general eye test amd statistically he is better. When you account in linemates as well as TOI between the 2 and the gap widens for skinner![]()
Skinner has been better than Arviddson. The rub is that this is no compliment at all.Jeff SKinner is not better than Arvy. I don't really know how this narrative has started
