I relapsed and am having a very disappointing time with myself. I don’t know where to vent seeing as I am as isolated as I ever been. I don’t expect anything out of this. It just feels liberating to be vulnerable and open about it and unfortunately for you all this was the first thing I could think of. Even though I am not very active and when I am I can be on one and seem like a total dick but this is a constant in my life. I check this message board every damn day and it’s honestly comforting. I love seeing the banter, the arguments and especially when people come together and agree on things.


I just want to say thank you to all of you who frequent here because there have been plenty of times I have been in a very dark place and somehow even for a second I can forget about it when lurking and talking hockey with everyone.

You have my full 100% support. I moved to GA from IL 8 years ago, and I literally know no one here. I work at home, my workaholic wife commutes, she's management but gets paid hourly, and she chooses to work 80 hours a week on weekdays. She sleeps 4 hours a night. She also works 32 hours on the weekends at home on the internet but off the clock. In the 30 years we've been together she has always stayed hours late even if she was an entry level employee working off the clock. I only spend 14 hours a week in a room with another human. I appreciate you. Hang in there.

On Firefox with ublock origin and it blocks ads here and pretty much everywhere else. I can watch D+, Hulu, and Peacock (all ad supported versions) with no ads. Same with Youtube. And with it, I haven't had any popups here telling me I am using an adblocker.

I thought I heard Firefox lost all of its privacy advantages. I just switched to Chrome a few weeks ago for school and general use

I use Chrome for work and personal but I’m probably an IT guys worst nightmare. All my PWs are basically the same and I have all the customer sites I have to log into saved into a Google sheet.


Worst part is my wife works for a tech company in the web security field.

Regarding FF's privacy, they did have some new terms of service recently that suggest less privacy regarding what you type in browser, but unfortunately I'm not sure what big name browser is better in regards to user privacy. I don't trust Mozilla (FF's maker), but I also don't trust Google or Microsoft. Don't trust Apple either, but do not currently own any of their products, so I'm certainly not gonna use safari.

chrome and edge bad. chrome is worse because i can think of no application where it is the best solution. at least edge makes sense if you work for a company with active directory integration for third party web accounts. chrome is almost always the worst possible option bar none. best argument one could make for chrome over firefox is firefox is slightly suboptimal for certain websites (i've experienced this with fedex [absolutley dogshit web user app btw]). i don't know if chrome is better in those cases, your mileage may vary, but i still wouldn't trade the performance and customizability of firefox for running poorly coded websites slightly better on google's hunk of garbage.
