Why not just use something like Keeper?

Don't trust services like that. To me, that's just one site or service that'll eventually get hacked that'd mandate me changing every password across the internet versus dealing with that piecemeal.

Come up with a few funny sentences using 50’s language. Not even the best Russian hackers would ever figure it.

Sure, that's the smart way, but I'll bet that they'll still require a special character and a number and at least one upper case or lower case letter and yadda yadda yadda.

I believe it is generally considered more secure to use one vs not, but I'm not a cyber security expert.

I can't imagine not using one, but I have 20-30 different websites I have to access weekly for work.

I'm sure it is, but I'm also hesitant to trust tech talk. Of course they big up their own stuff.

Hell, I'm convinced that some VPN is going to be hacked some day and whoops, the encrypted information supposedly unreachable is actually all stored on a server farm in Albania.

Work just sent out an email that they're now instituting a 20-character password minimum for logins going forward.

...

Are you absolutely f***ing kidding me?
My guy. We've got a 20 character minimum and need to use an authenticator app on our phone every time we log in to any of the FOUR different computers in the office. We get logged out if the computer hasn't been used in the past five minutes. All four computers have different apps and can only be used for certain purposes.

I make freight trains run on time. You'd think I worked for Haliburton with the security rigamarole I've gotta deal with.

This is the direction that all of IT is going, and I encourage it, as an IT professional.

One breach. One bad mistake by someone... can bankrupt a company from crypto. It's literally all it takes now.

The annoyance of a long password, or using an authenticator app is probably outweighed by still getting to have a job at your current company because it wasn't hacked, and ransomed for everything it has.

On a good note, forcing password resets like every 90 days or on other time intervals is starting to go away. Data is starting to show that it's less important than complicated/long passwords and MFA.

The railroad is kind of it's own beast. You could go back thirty years in time technology wise and still make billions in profit.

I send six to eight f***ing faxes a shift. A smart phone and a fax machine probably shouldn't be involved technology.

FWIW I held firm about not handing my phone over they gave me a work phone and a $500 bonus to not make it public holy hell do I hate this company.

I've always gone with my favorite players and their numbers. My password forever was Kopecky82toTheriot2!

Only sharing because it's an expired password.

I'm happy on the tenth and twenty fifth. Tonight will be the third night I'm totally in charge of the yard for twelve hours because the guy training me called off. It's my eighteenth day of work. Stressed as f***. Managing 180 guys. I don't know their f***ing names and I'm expected to know who operates which f***ing machines.

Is mfa multiple factor authentication?

My diving trip to Australia with the GF is all booked paid for!

Gonna be there for about a month, traveling down the east coast and south of Australia. If it were up to me, I would be going later in the year and just hopping on a live-aboard boat, but my girlfriend wants the whole Australia experience, so we're doing a bunch of on-land tourist and wildlife stuff too.

Last trip to the Galapagos was fantastic, so hopefully this one comes close.

Here's a go pro video montage I put up on insta. Since it's private, I can't share it normally, so I just uploaded it to streamable. Sorry if there are ads

Go swimming with saltwater crocodiles. That’s Australian as hell.

How was the Galapagos? Did you do the NatGeo expedition? My buddies and I have been eyeing that for a decade now. It was always too pricey for us and now that I can justify it I have a wife and baby lol
