Found out tonight just how completely and totally ill suited for hr culture and office jobs I’m suited for today after an altercation with my bosses boss on Thursday. Legitimately don’t know how you white collar types do it.

I have experienced a much smoother working culture in Europe. Socialist governments just focus more on employee rights & benefits. Most countries start with 5 or 6 weeks holiday and more or less unlimited sick leave. It is incredible.

Hey quick question for you Chitown based peeps, is it possible now that Amazon will consider the South Loop for their HQ2 now that they backed out of NYC? I heard there is a plot of land by Chinatown the mayor and governor both pitched. What's the dealio with that?

Your guess is as good as mine. The interest is there (though I'd prefer west loop in the old post office, tear that down and build there).

It seems like that whole ordeal was just Amazon scouting any and every other large competitor's plans for major cities around the country. All of the prospective areas were falling over themselves sharing any bit of data they had since they all thought there was a chance they'd be chosen. A giant recon operation that was a success for them even if they never choose another location.

Well if Chicago gets HQ2 it can't be bad. 25000 jobs is a good thing no matter how you spin it. I the city gets it but not by bending over. Enough with corporate exploitation.

Anyone preorder the new Samsung phones?

I ordered the new S10 512gb but I am not sure I will switch from my iPhone X.

Team Samsung, but I still have an S7. Works fine. Don't want to spend the money on a new phone when this one is fine. I have other things I prefer to spend my money on, especially with spring coming up. Fishing trips incoming.

I used to always get the new iPhone when it came out, but the changes to the newer models strike me as unremarkable.

I usually get a new one every 2 years or so when I just need a new phone period, and never based around a new model release.

I have been team Apple from the start but the features are almost too good not to change.

I don’t even know what the features you’re talking about are.... but I use very few apps and features with my phone.

Also why I am changing.

I didn’t mean it as a knock on the iPhone, which I like, but as an observation that phones have gotten so advanced in general that the newer tweaks are of minimal utility.

I know. Apple tends to bring new tech a year after other companies (they basically let Samsung and others test for them).

My iPhone is still a really good phone and Apple integration is nice but I partially want to see what else is out there.

I’ve had my 6+ since September 2014 and it still works great. Maybe a battery replacement but otherwise awesome.

The new iPhones with no home button and facial recognition to unlock seem real stupid to me so I might go buy an 8+ sometime soon while I still can just in case my phone now craps out so I’m not stuck with the 9 or X.

Also aren’t they roughly $1400??? GTFO

I can find so many better things to spend $1000-2000 on than a phone. I mean.. I can go on a full week's vacation for that.

I am what you call a late adopter when it comes to cell phones. I just can't justify the cost.

Also, if I'm being honest, I'd prefer to be on my phone less than more, so whatever new bells and whistles on the new models, don't help in that regard.
