You guys are giving papaya too much love.

Dirty socks. Rotten garbage. I wish. It tastes like straight out vomit to me.

Anyone eat Dimitri Best Food in Chicago Heights before? I ask simply because I have seen this commercial a bunch of times in recent days and it doesn't look that appealing

It used to be called Skybox and its been there since late 90's

Not sure how it is now but it used to be a respectable establishment (At least as respectable as you can expect) in that type of entertainment place. Actually given that 4 people were shot inside it I can probably assume its not the place it used to be

It had a Burger King across street so on weekends some of the dancers and other workers would go across street for breakfast (I think it was Sunday Mornings when they would remain open until 5am)

So sometimes you would just hang around parking lot until BK opened up and some of the performers would come across and hang out as well. When your in early 20's that isn't something you think is all that interesting but now that I am soon to be 33 and most of the people I used to know have moved away and gotten married and such you look back with a fondness of missing those days

I think they closed down the BK there but I haven't been over that way in a while as I never go to Homewood or that part of Harvey anymore

Haven't been there since it was Skybox. Keep forgetting @Blackhawkswincup and I are around the same neighborhood (I went to Roosevelt as a kid, grew up a bit in Dolton, hell I still get my haircuts out there) and went to strip clubs around that area in my younger days. Nice to see a fellow resident on the boards regardless. Might have to PM BWC if he's up for 390 one of these days

Did you ever go to Arnie's?

I was roped into going with friends longtime ago (twice)

It was absolutely awful the surgical scars on dancers , the smell , etc

I was essentially like Adrian Monk sitting in there afraid to touch anything or be touched

Yes. Was baited to go from a co-worker. Was awful, but I got free drinks and VIP (he's a member) so it wasn't all bad. I heard after the remodel (was a fire so they rebuilt it) that it's nice in there now. The Factory is another spot I have yet to check out after the remodel.

Ha

Just saw WGN report on shooting. Apparently the guys had confrontation with shooter in Dolton and he followed them to club and found them and shot them inside club

That some Hollywood movie type attack you don't expect to see in real life. Honestly wasn't that how Another 48 Hours end went? Nolte and Murphy go to club and are followed by killer who then gets in shootout with them inside club

You remember that Catholic School down street from Roosevelt? Queen of Apostles?

That is where I went to school for grades 2-8

Did you go to Thornton? Thornridge or elsewhere for HS?

Yea I nearly went there, but parents felt Roosevelt was best since it was literally walking distance from my house (lived on Clark st. so was literally a block or two away). Was there from 3-5th grade then moved. I went to Bishop Noll, then transferred (story of my life. Never stayed anywhere no longer than 3 years as my family uprooted alot) to Washington H.S. later. I still go out there as well as the East Side (hell I work by the Hegewisch area). I know a few people from those schools though (couple of them work with me actually).

Funny, I believe my childhood friend John went to QoA. He lived right next door to me on Clark st.
