So I just had to deal with this for game 6 vs dallas. I purchased some row 2 seats behind the net on the Oilers attack twice side at 630am the day of the game. By 1130am they were calling, texting and emailing that the tickets would not be sent. By this point all similar seats had already sold from other sites. They offered me 3 or 4 replacement options. The was was some club row 11 seats that would have been pretty good but I like sitting behind the net on the Oilers attack twice side. There was 1 set of row 1 seats available there but out my price range. They contacted the seller and lowered the price a little bit and gave me a coupon. I ended up over my budget but with great seats. If I didn't want to spend more the clubs seats would have been acceptable imo if there was absolutely nothing else. Fans first customer service was top notch and they refund the money right away.
Wild, thanks for the info it's good to know. TM fees are atrocious.

DANGER RANGER!

This is exactly how people got burned at the Phoenix Super Bowl. It sounds like Fans First do not get possession of the tickets. This means the seller can change their mind leaving the buyer hanging without tickets and if the ticket seller, in this case Fans First, don’t get their refund from the ticket owner they can literally run out of cash.

Many reputable ticket resellers went out of business due to lack of cash and went insolvent to avoid refunds which they couldn’t do. Insolvency was their only way out. It was so huge that it made national news in Canada and the US, thousands of fans were left without tickets or refunds, and prices went nuts.

I got my tickets and literally had an armed escort to my car but had to pay almost 4 times my original amount I paid months earlier and I bought them from a reputable reseller company which I bought secondary tickets for 15 years down there. I know of 4 guys who dropped 5k US each and were left with no tickets. It was crazy.

The problem is ticket sellers commit to sell to the reseller but then days later the seller sees that prices have increased dramatically and then want more or they don’t send the tickets to the reseller who has already sold those tickets basing the cost on what they paid not necessarily the current market price. But unless they pay way more than agreed to the seller, the reseller gets no tickets to resell which they already sold.

Now the buyer has paid but has no tickets and won’t get any unless they buy more expensive tickets and may not get a refund.

I would only buy through Ticketmaster for the finals. Your getting screwed with fees yes but your getting your tickets guaranteed.

Never buy tickets from a company that does not have the actual digital possession of the tickets or the electronic means to guarantee a transfer immediately. Otherwise it’s a risk for the very odd event where prices spiral like this one.

Tickets aren’t too bad right now, around 1200 for the cheapest. Expect that to drop some.

They offered me club seats that were listed for $200 more each than I originally paid. Had I accepted their replacements they would have been priced much higher than the ones I originally purchased. I was happy with the transaction and customer service but it could be an issue if lots of people are trying to rip off fans first. But I don't think they pay out tickets until after the event so it's not like the seller got paid. I could see how that could be a problem but I still plan on using fansfirst for the time being

The problem is your seats aren’t guaranteed. The seller can change their mind and this is exactly what happened in Phoenix. Can’t say you haven’t been warned. Bigger companies than Fans First went insolvent and this is a completely unregulated business.

Hey I might be late to the party but does anyone, I’m talking to you @5 Mins 4 Ftg , have a presale code? Asking for many friends.

Please don’t come at me. :)

Hope the move for your mom went good, pal.

I understand your point and the risk you are pointing out. I'm I wrong to think at the minimum you would at least get a refund as fansfirst doesn't pay the the seller until after the event date. So it's not like the money for a refund would be gone. And if other tickets are available they would try to send you something. There's always a risk unless you purchase from ticketmaster

I understand the angst. I was a bit taken aback at the demand this morning and seeing the prices - whooo boy!

Move went great thanks!

The money might be gone if Fans First is using it for operations and other ticket purchases. It took some people months to get refunds in that Super Bowl and as said due to the extreme confluence of events many resellers were forced to declare insolvency.

I see the same groundswells of demand building here as what happened in Phoenix almost a decade ago. A Game 6 Cup chance for the Oilers demand and prices may soar out of control causing the issue.

Also they may have other tickets to “send you” but at triple the price you originally paid.

I’m just saying don’t be glib about it. Fans First sounds like a risk at the best of times. Hopefully all goes well but don’t discount the same confluence of events happening here with a Game 4 or Game 6. It’s happened before is all I’m saying and that means it’ll happen again somewhere else in an unregulated free for all.

Just got the Delorean flux capacitor fixed…anyone have a pre sale code for Led Zeppelin @ the Kinseman Field House??
No, but it’s 1982 and I just bumped into Tommy Lee and Motley Crew behind the ATCO building at 105th which was a Sheraton Plaza, was a Howard Johnson, and now is a Holiday Inn express. I had to step around a few broken TVs in the alley. Lol.

As you can tell I stayed at this hotel a few times. I will always remember the night that after their show at Northlands, Dusty, Billy and Frank showed up to listen to the piano player and allowed me the time to visit with them in a quiet, out of the way hotel bar.

I had originally paid 860 for tickets and they offered me ones listed for 1050 as a replacement at no charge. So from my last experience I was happy. Of course game 6 of the finals is a much different animal and could have a way different out come. But you are right and people need to be aware that sellers can back out on fansfirst

Is fansfirst 100% legit? Even if they did offer a refund if I showed up to the game and the tickets didn't work I would be so mad.
I buy and sell from there. Its like Stubhub where you are dependent on the seller to transfer the tickets. I have been lucky so far FansFirst. Had stubhub tickets that didn't come through but they hadn't charged me yet.

Those sites don't give you the money until after the event now, this change due to Covid.

I am sure it's ok for 99.8% of events. It's when the crazy and unusual happen in a marketplace once every 10 years. I can see a Game 4 or Game 6 Cup clincher being one of those rare occasions where things spiral out of control.

Imagine paying $5000K a ticket, fly to Edmonton, 3 hours before the game being told you dont have tickets and you're forced to cram into Johnnys Pub at Queen Mary Park to watch the game. (Is there even a Johnnys Pub at Queen Mary Park? I do not know lol).

That would just suck if you could have paid $1000 more and been guaranteed tickets from TM.

The ticket prices are insane gesus. You could fly to florida and go to the game and fly back for cheaper. That's absurd

I'm pretty sure the majority of season ticket holders are just straight scalpers now and even tho they don't sell every game they make there money just in the playoffs alone for the season

Part of the problem is 1/2 of the people buying second hand tickets just want to say they were there and post on the gram.

The majority? No way. You’d have 7500+ tickets available as there’s over 14,000 STH. The entire rink would be dark blue on TM.

I don’t doubt some are putting stupid prices out there but they are just fishing. Some are professional resellers out to make a buck. Some sell to cover costs. It ain’t cheap. The beauty of it all is you don’t have to buy them.

I’ve been offered stupid prices for my Game 4 or 6 if it’s a cup clincher and said no way.

Also you have it backwards. The STH I know sell part of their regular season tix to afford the playoff tix! You want to see the playoffs!!

Smith, what's the presale code?

I'm sorry Atlas. I have to override you at these prices.

Yup. The majority of STH’s put up with games against the Sharks on a -30 night in February for this moment, which comes around every 18 years or so. Never once even considered selling a playoff ticket.

Just booked a hotel for June 21st with cancellation insurance until the 19th. If they make it to game 6, we are going, even if just to watch from the Mosspit

If anyone has a line on tickets, please let me know. : P

I've done similar, I'll get into Edmonton on the 17th, fly out on the 26th, if there's reasonable priced tickets come up i'll get them, if not from what my friends over there say the whole city will have an insane atmosphere anyway

So technically, what i could do is purchase tickets to the Moss pit? and make a night of it...maybe I get lucky and a couple of tickets become available last minute.
There are no tickets for the Moss pit. It’s first come, you lineup to get in and once it’s full you are sol. I have no idea how early. people might line up for these games 2-3 hours before game time. It’s gonna be nuts.
