Anyone else pumped for the 4 nations?

I'm pumped for it to be over ASAP, and to be the ratings disaster it deserves to be.

It's really bad we're left without meaningful hockey for one half of February. Next week's Saturday can't arrive soon enough.

Nope. Don't care. Let them play their 3 or 4 games and be done with it. It's an even bigger gimmick that they created over the years than implementing the shoot out.

Super excited. Anyone not pumped to see best on best after a decade of its absence isnt a fan of the sport . Point blank. Players are going to show out
It's not even close to the best on best, Try again.

Not in the slightest.

Enjoy the 2 week all star games. Nobody is going out there to get hurt.

I think you will be surprised. It won't look anything like an all star game.

All it takes is a few guys getting the forecheck going and it's game on.

If somebody goes out there playing like it's an all star game I don't think it will end up well.

I'll be tuning in 100% ... not happy about it but I do love my international hockey and am dying to see some of these guys together. McDavid with MacK and Makar? Yes please. Dying to see how this US team does because they are the paper favorites. I think Sweden will be a real pain in the ass and cause an upset. I originally picked Finland but then everyone got hurt.

Yes! Awesome not having the Russians in it, sad not having the Czechs in it. Also, no “blueberry”-nations, I e all games should be competitive.

For all the ones saying “too few teams” - you need to learn how international hockey and their leagues work.

For those not interested - we’ll go do something else than whine about it.

Fir the ones saying “I miss Russia, buhu” - go read a newspaper
Not including Russia, Czechs, Switzerland, and others are valid concerns, your opinions on those nations don't change that. I do know how international hockey works and including only four nations is an objectively bad way of organizing this event and killing any interest. No one would watch the football/soccer World Cup with eight teams. Thanks for being the taskmaster and telling people who disagree with you what to do, a great way of making people take what you say with a grain of salt.

Suggesting that it’ll be all star game level competitiveness is no less hyperbolic than suggesting the players will go all out in this one.
Anyone claiming either end of that spectrum would be making equally moronic statements.

Seems like you don’t, because this way, the NHL doesn’t have to do deals with other national leagues. This tournament wouldn’t happened if the plan was to include more nations from Europe that would include players playing in Europe, at least not in a few years from now.

Also, my opinion on Russia is, thank god, shares by the official authorities on the matter, and IF they would’ve been included, more and better teams would’ve cancelled, including Canada.

How do you predict the engagement and intensity is going to be?

If 7/10 is a regular season NHL game and 10/10 is game 7 of Stanley cup finals here's my guess:

Sweden-Finland 8/10
Canada-USA 8/10
The rest is 6/10

For the final I add +1 to every matchup.

That sounded sarcastic
No not sarcastic .. but it was a very difficult 2 word post.

First I spelt it "stooked" and that just didnt look right., then "stocked" .. then I had to google it and at that point im like "Neil, just pick another word dude wtf .." But this is a 90s word and Im a 90s kid so I continued with my google task until I reached completion

And that is the complete history of that 2 word post

tldr - not sarcastic .... and this reply while seemingly sarcastic is in fact not sarcastic

I think it starts a bit calm and then ramps up a lot. I'm expecting 9 or even 10 by the end. The nice thing about 4 teams is no weak matches.

I’m not overly excited by it but it will be exciting to see some of the league’s best players playing with and against each other. Seeing McDavid, MacKinnon, etc on the same team could be exciting

Yes, excited to see McDavid wear the Canadian jersey. Excited to see him on a PP with Crosby, MacKinnon, Makar, Marner etc.
All games should be fun and competitive. I couldn't care less if Germany or Austria are there. Games against those lower teams are boring.

I am, but I get excited for all kinds of hockey events.

A little sad I am going to miss Canada vs USA, I already promised my wife I would take her out to a show that night. Hopefully they meet in the finals for the rematch
Just PVR it and bury your head in the sand until you can watch it
