If you wanna see pain, check out the Flyers and Caps pages. They are dreading this Pens win like we would dread a habs one. THAT is real hate. On here? Meh we sort of care. Sort of.

I expect Toronto fans will have them high on the hate list soon

bang-on, dan. at least we have game 7 video to continually roll over and over.
leaf fans are almost as insufferable as habs fans.

I'm rooting hard for the Pens to win the cup. The beginning of the season when the team was adrift and floundering management canned the coach. Brought in new blood, the players reacted and never looked back.

51 years old here, so my memories of Habs keep them far at the top of the list.

As with others, Vancouver came in second for that peak period of maybe 2011-2013. They still have some buttwipes there, but the hate has lessened a lot. Helps not seeing them regularly.

Pittsburgh is somewhere between hate and meh for me as well. I didn't want them to come out of the East, never mind potentially winning it all. But that's based more on the Lemieux/Samuelsson/Cooke history, and even that's diluting these days for me personally. I might even be totally neutral if Lemieux wasn't the owner anymore.... I can take some of Crosby's whining and entitled-ness.....

Led by a fired Boston coach, traded malcontent and local Kid who I read is a Boston sports fan

I want SJ but this isn't the worst thing

I agree with you Elmer

It's amazing - the Bruins kicked their ***** in back to backs 170 days ago

Ya, I don't really get how people are putting the Canucks so high, especially above teams like Pitt and Philly. The was like a two year thing to me, and we won the Cup in their city. Plus, they are irrelevant now.

They're still a pretty annoying group all together, can't bash fans here but I think you can put two and two together, same with Toronto.

Nothing will ever top Montreal for me though, hate everything top to bottom dealing with that organization.

Do hate Pittsburgh quite a lot.

My top 5 most hated teams:

1) Habs - No Question.
2) Vancouver - Slowly dropping as they become less relevant
3) Tampa Bay - Might be a surprise to some, but I can't stand Cedric Paquette
4) Pittsburgh - Reasons already mentioned
5) Tie between Edm/Philly

Yup, undoubtedly. Losing Neely sent this franchise reeling. We were certainly robbed of legit chances at Cups, arguably Cups themselves. Not to mention the prime of one of the sickest hockey players to ever walk the earth. Watching Neely score 50 in 44 on one leg, knowing each shift could be his last. Then watching Mario quit the game at one point b/c the game was too rough for him, and when he was still the best player in it... makes me seeth. Add all the hypocrisy as an owner.

Roger Marino was a customer of a company I worked for in the 90's. He confirmed everything I already knew a/b Mario.

For fans that weren't old enough to appreciate that, there's always Marc Savard. Imagine a healthy Savard, Bergeron, and Krejci down the middle. We won a Cup w/o Savard and a PP. What could we have done w/ him?

I hate the habs a ton. If the habs were a person I'd want to punch them in the face repeatedly. The pens? I'd like to light their face on fire and put it out w/ a composite stick signed by Neely. There's a difference.

It's incomprehensible what this team would have looked like and potentially accomplished had the Cooke hit never happened. Makes a girl cry for 'what could have been' so easily.

I hate two teams: the Canucks and the Canadiens.

I am a fan of the Bruins.

I'm indifferent on everyone else.

If I hated the Pens it would just be because they are "whiny" and stuff...I truly find them to be extremely entertaining to watch. I'm not a fan or anything, but I don't mind watching them. I'm over Matt Cooke. Not what he did to Savars. But, yes, any sort of resentment for the Penguins for him.

Roger was friends with Howard Baldwin became an investor in the Pens. Baldwin is a master of using other people's money. He was also involved with the Sharks and North Stars and AHL teams in Hartford and Manchester.

Baldwin just overpaid Pens players in the 90's with money he didn't have. Mario wound up being owner because he was owed so much by the team. I think Marino lost about $40 million and Baldwin got away clean.

It's close...real close.

Probably Habs by a nose, but I ******* hate the Pens. Crosby is such a d-bag. Just now he whacks Jones after he has the puck, then when Vlasic gives him a retaliatory slash, Crosby flips out.

Once the Sedins retire, and Burrows gets bought out/traded/unsigned, that team is fairly uninteresting to the point that they are irrelevant. The teams fortunes have been worse than the Bruins since 2011, with absolutely nothing to show for it. Considering we likely won't see them in the playoffs for who knows how long, I consider that rivalry in the past.

While I despise the Canadiens, I find it hard to really hate anyone with so many teams in the league and fewer meetings. How do you build rivalries when you just don't see teams often?

Not nearly enough hate in this league.

This sums it up right here.

That's Canadiens hockey.

Trust me, I hate the Penguins. But Montreal has earned a special place.

This clip still infuriates me. I hate his ugly rat face. I have a physical reaction to the red Habs jersey because of this awful piece of **** and his rolling around the ice.

Ribeiro will always be a Hab to me. I yelled at that slimeball in Nashville and one of the fans there yelled at me saying he wasn't a slimeball..

There are other Habs I dislike too.

Eh. I find the whole "hate this team" thing to be overblown at my age. I might dislike individual players because of the way they play the game or something they do off ice, but the juevenile 80s wrasslin' "good guys/bad guys" morality play seems pretty silly to me. They are all guys doing a job and no team has any kind of ethical superiority to any other.

I like Kessel and I like that PIT has more local kids, but I wouldn't mind seeing SJ win just for the novelty of it.

I don't like the majority of Canuck fans. It's hard for me to look at their team differently when their fans are a bunch of uneducated buttholes.

I would not be thrilled at seeing the Cup lifted by the likes of Matt Cooke, Brooks Orpik, and James Neal. With them gone, I don't mind.

Also, I do like Phil Kessel, Sidney Crosby, Patric Hornqvist, Matt Murray, Mike Sullivan; so I will be happy for them.

With the Habs, I can remember last October in the middle of The Streak, when they were on their way to an 82-0 regular season, a waltz to the Cup, and the parade route was being planned, I was absolutely dreading June 2016.

I dreaded walking into my office and seeing the commemorative issue of The Hockey News with PK Subban hoisting the Cup on the cover; I dreaded the sickening feeling I'd get in my stomach when NBC shows the commercial with recent winners lifting the Cup and seeing 'Patches' (seeing Toews with it on TD Garden ice is tough enough); I dreaded the pregame publicity for every time we play them next year referring to them as the 'defending champions.'

Etc.

So even though I'd rather see San Jose win, it wasn't that long ago when I felt it could have been much worse. ;)

yep, and worse yet, which has led me to feel how I do about the Habs, is you can find literally tons of clips like that of Hab players doing **** like this against just the B`s, not counting the hundreds more vs other opponents

remember this one? Only difference is this one worked out well for the good guys
