I`m convinced I could suffer major brain damage and have the only thing I remember being my hatred for the Habs

YUP!!

There are the Habs and there are everybody else. The current version of the Penguins are tough to dislike except for their owner really. He is the last connection to Samuelsson/Cooke etc. I have very little issue with Crosby and the rest of them. Actually glad to see Mike Sullivan have success to a point. I am rooting for San Jose though.

Repeating what's already been said, I love to hate the habs. I want to see the Bruins face them in the playoffs every year for the opportunity to watch Boston send them to the golf course. Pittsburgh is different because of Neely and Savard. I don't want them on the ice period. I'd be happier if they moved to Seattle, changed their name and colors.

I know I'm not in the majority, but I don't understand how fans can like more than about 5% of non Bruins players throughout the league.

The only non Bruins that I like tend to be former B's, BU Alums and maybe 10 others.

I consider playing for the Habs, Pens, Rangers, Canucks and a whole bunch of other teams to be a character flaw.

NO!

I can't describe how much I despise the habs. I'm rather indifferent to the Penguins. I will always hate Matt Cooke though. And Brooks Orpik is a wiener.

Outside of being a free agent and signing on any of those teams, most players have little to no say in that.

For those who hate, dislike, loathe the Canadians moreso than the Pens could you provide some sound reasoning without rousing butt ache from the powers that be. But not anything prior to 1984 please. I just wonder if I'm missing something.

Im 58 years old.
It goes beyond 1984. I think what you are missing is history/generational perspective.

And its Canadiens I hate.

Not Canadians.

This sums it up right here.

That's Canadiens hockey.

Trust me, I hate the Penguins. But Montreal has earned a special place.

Montreal then the Rangers

Vancouver is irrelevant to the point I'm back liking them

I like Sullivan and most of the Pens

I expect Toronto fans will have them high on the hate list soon

Right I get all the old stuff. I know it pretty well. My dad brought me up watching Tv 38 and telling me all about the Habs. The idea of a rivalry got transferred but with my own eyes and heart I have yet to despise them like he did. So I guess my assumption of it being an age thing is correct.

Ribeiro, Komisarek, Plekanec, Subban, Eller, Price, Therrien

If you find any of the above remotely likable, then I don't think you'll ever find the hate for them.

The fact of being a Bs fan living in the Montreal region since the mid 70s.

I don't hate Eller much, and Price is somewhat likeable.
I'd rather not have to write the others' name...

I don't dislike Pittsburgh as much as I did a few years back.

With how often the rosters turn over, I don't really hate any team at this point.
Maybe I'm just getting older, but I'm not really emotional about sports at all anymore one way or the other.

If I were drafted by the Habs or Pens, I'd have pulled a Lindros.

You'd mostly need to be as good as Lindros to pull a Lindros. (we you drafted by the Habs or Pens? Maybe that's why you never made the NHL!)

Anyways, re-iterating, I love to hate the Habs. I love the Bruins/Canadiens rivalry. Everyone's welcome to their own opinion, but Bruins hockey would be less enjoyable season after season if we didn't get to face the Habs.

I hate that the Pittsburgh franchise has had success by tanking and getting several generational talents that way. Lemieux, one of the few players that could rival Gretzky; and the NHL's new force fed poster boy (although that's been downplayed recently since he hasn't been as dominant)

I'd just go to college for four years then and pull a Wheeler/Vesey.
