It’s hard to believe all the rumours on how little Colorado is willing to offer Rantanen

If true I hope he walks out and leaves Colorado empty handed

How little ? $90M over 8 years comes out to $11.25M per year - not exactly chump change.

...he has a Cup as a member of the TEAM...how many Hart's, Art Ross' does Rantanen have??...
Oh boy here we go, do those regular season awards give Drai a boost in the playoffs? Do the trinkets give him magical powers? We are talking right now and the future, not the past. I obviously think Drai is better but by 2mil? Hell no.

It's a lowball, IMO. Given the rises in the cap coming in they should be offering him up to 12.5 million per year, around what MacK is making. I'll be disappointed, to put it very mildly, if they don't at least come up to 12 million.

...so because Rantanen won a Cup and Draisaitl, the better player of the two, lost in Game 7, that means Rantanen gets a Draisaitl deal??...Rantanen isn't worth Drai money, or MacKinnon money...imo, $12 is a fair deal for him...

I'm not entirely sold on Drai money, but surely more than MacK gets.

These 2 players have similar value. I personally would prefer Rantanen.
Yes he is a little more injury prone but he's bigger and had better production in the post season.
That being said, Marner is an awesome player. He is decently defensively, he can drive play and puts up Quality numbers.
In reality Mitch is likely the better all around player. But playoff performances throw this out the window when they are that close. Rantanen is not returning a singular like minded asset back anyways. If he goes it’s for quality depth instead imo.

Once he shows he can run his own line, then we can talk. Both Mack and Drai are reliable with lesser player. He isnt.

In a vacuum, Rantanen could be worth more to some teams. The Avs are not one of them. They already have too many high end salaries and are in need of depth.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Avs pay more but I won’t be surprised if they get proactive either.

I think they let him walk, keep him as a rental for the playoffs.

It wouldn’t surprise me either. Nothing really would with this situation honestly.

I’d prefer to get assets back instead of letting him walk but I can understand the logic of an own rental as well.
