Proposal: Anson Carter: Marner for Rantanen

lol @ my confusion, says the one who stated someone as having connections only to then be told he has none and you then backed off on your statement by citing someone else to blame for it.

Backed off? I dont know that he has none. Ive already clarified that others more familiar than me were saying that he does have connections (they gave examples). I dont know that he doesnt just because someone comes along and disputes this. Me clarifying this is a way of saying, Im not going back and forth with him about this. This isnt even an acknowledgment that he's correct.

This eagerness by you to call this something else or be dedicated to labeling it a particular way is odd.

Players rarely base their prime career contracts on childhood Fandom.

Money is what matters.
Honest question, what percentage chance do you think the Leafs would have to sign Rantanen, and what would the $ amount be ?

IMO there would probably be less than a 10 percent chance we re-sign him, he likely asks for over 13M, maybe even 14, Leafs are in no position to re-sign him after a hypothetical trade.

I'm sure MacKinnon would love Marner's work ethic and have nothing to say about it.
I doubt Mackinnon wants to lose Rantanen but if the replacement is Marner he'd be delighted.
They're pretty good friends.

No eagerness and no dedication to labeling. I simply posted a  emoji because of the following two quotes by you and you chose to get snarky with your “Sherlock” comment. You’re the one who chose to post about a “reporter with sources” and then dialed it back to not knowing if he has sources after someone called you out on it. If you can’t see the humor in that, I don’t know what to tell You.

Some reporter with connections with the Avs reported over the weekend that the Avs will be trading Rantanen if he’s not re-signed by the TDL. It’s likely a ploy to put pressure on Rantanen and make him realize getting to FA isn’t going to be a cakewalk. By doing this, the Avs plant the seed he might play for any of several bad teams. And if not, he’ll now be asked countless questions by the media about his impending trade or free agency.

Wouldn’t know if he has connections or not. Some(one) on the Avs board said he does.

There’s no need to say anything. Are you last-word-freaking this at this point? Just repeating the same thing over and over again when it’s already been addressed is more than a little feeble. Once again, he disputed the notion of him having connections. You insist on referring to this as a calling out. The problem is that others saying he has connections have provided at least one example of him having connections. So the person who disputed this isn’t even necessarily correct. So how is this a “calling out”?

What you’re saying and keep repeating is ham-fisted nonsense.

I imagine similar $ for either player. If the Leafs have the cap space for either as GM I'd wager it should go to Rantanen however.

Rantanen floats a way from the puck more often than not. He has hands, which makes him a player than can pick up points but he's awful away from the puck.

I didn't. I posted an emoji because of the contradiction in your two posts and you took offense and got snarky. Maybe check your sources before posting them and it won't receive an emoji. Or, see how you contradicted yourself and laugh it off instead of getting snarky about it.

There’s no contradiction once you realize this:
Quote 1: Citing second hand from people who had examples.

Quote 2: Acknowledging it’s not 1st hand knowledge.

Not seeing why this is hard for you to grasp.
