Speculation: Another year of this Bluc **** (The 2024 season thread)

Any hockey fan should know that hockey players aren't baseball players and that they play hurt.
Any hockey fan should know there is no reason to play a guy every single game of the regular season if he's hurt. Playoffs don't start until April, and Danault isn't Kopitar. YOU should know that.

He clearly isn't himself this season anyone can see that. Players generally just don't fall of a cliff like that

But let's let the numbers do the talking

Roughly the same ice time and he suddenly can't score goals?

He dropped off by 10 goals from years 22 to 23 -- yet he played 82 games. Was he injured then too?

The org isn't going to play an injured player if there is no need - makes zero sense and benefits no one.

I still contend that Moore was hurt and is pulling out (TWSS) of it and that Danault has been hurt all year
I'm pretty sure he was. I don't think we have to guess on that one.

That's why I was defending him all year.

Moore is an excellent middle 6 forward when healthy. The main issue with him is durability concerns.

It's like you don't even watch the games.
Two top six forwards were added that offseason and his role completely changed

p.s. Show me another time in his career where he scored over 20 goals

His TOI hasn't changed a bit in the 4 years he's been here.

This is fun going back and forth with you and all, but can you give me a logical reason why they would play him injured rather than have him sit games in an effort to get him 100%

like all defense first teams, i hope this new russian can help our power play. without an improvement in our power play were going to be hurtin in the playoffs.
however, we have the best chance of advancing that we've had in a while so i hope for the best, swearing at my tv and wondering what the hell jim fox is talking about most of the time.

It's like you don't even watch the games,,, his TOI hasn't changed but his matchups and he is starting in the d-zone where he was starting in the o-zone much more in his first season here.

It's nagging injury that he is telling rh coaches he can play through. He is still able to defend but it's effecting his shot.

Sounds compelling...but it's amost like you don't even watch the games.

Isn’t there a report every EOS, with players citing their injuries and how they’ve been playing hurt? I’m not saying Danault is or isn’t hurt, but it’s not out of the realm that hockey players aren’t playing hurt.

If you are 65 games in, and it's clear that an 'injury' has been detrimental to the player's output...you are going to sit that player to get them healthy. In fact, you would have done it a long time ago.

Danault is 5th in ES points on the team and is 6 points ahead of Fiala.
He's 6th in ES minutes among forwards at 14:39 per game.
He's on the second unit of the leagues 28th worst power play.
He's first in forwards TOI for the leagues 5th best PK.

He and Fiala still have more minutes together as linemates than he and Foegele do... by a fairly wide margin.

EDIT: I don't even know what we're talking about but I really don't think Danault is hurt or has been playing as poorly as the people who want him to be a sniper have suggested at times.

Hey Jesse, hope you’re feeling better, I was wondering if you had any inkling as to why the Kings didn’t extend Gavrikov yet? Do you get the feeling they want to see what happens with this team and if they want to commit to big contracts?

Skinner and the Oilers are one of the worst teams in the league at stopping rush offense, particularly puck movement off the rush. The Kings are bottom five in the league at generating rush offense. It's why Kempe always looks good agains the Oilers, but no one else does. The Oilers are vulnerable this year. If Byfield and Fiala can keep it up and join Kempe at creating off the rush, we have a better chance. If we do the same thing otherwise, we'll get the same result.
You just know the Kings are going to bring back the 1-3-1 in the playoffs and get wrecked standing in the neutral zone... again, rather than generating rush offense and keeping the Oilers on the ropes.

No idea. The fact that he just switched agents probably means that any negotiations are probably reset to the beginning and maybe Brisson wants to negotiate in the summer?

Also I'm not allowed to be around people right now (I'm considered highly immunocompromised) so I'm an extra step removed from everything.

Our family has dealt with cancer the last couple years and we lost some very close people, but in the process we were able to make some connections along the way. There was this lab in Switzerland that sold some injectable compounds that really helped with boosting the immune system. I can try to find it and maybe you can take a look into it if you’re curious. It’s a bit expensive but it did help.

Things aren’t going well let’s just ignore them and wait til they get better? Some of us make our own living and don’t live in fairy tail land. So that ketchup isn’t going back in the bottle.

Too quick? I think 8 years is enough to form a valid consensus on their performance. You can’t ignore the patterns between their management and playing careers.

The NHL is hard? Of course it is that’s why winning is worth a damn.

I’m not going to shit on the guys that came in around the cup years for wanting to win every year. In fact I like their expectation level. For the record I’ve been watching since I was 8 in 1988.

Watching Kopitar and Drew limp along is liking watching your grandparents fade away. Let them quit going to work every day they are old!

You guys call every new guy an MVP and you have been saying Byfield is going to break out every year he’s in camp. Those aren’t predictions they are hopes and hype. Every once in a while a blind squirrel finds a nut.

Being a Kings fan isn’t a marriage. It’s a acid trip.

The 8 year comment is valid but I don't think this year is the one to fire Blake, Luc or Hiller.

Nor do I think they will.

Maybe closer to or at the end of Kopiar's kontract.

Since the PLD failure, I have like all Blake's moves and he didn't go all in presently.

He may have been extended or given assurances already.

I have been a Kings fan since 77.

Byfield is slow adapter and improver.

Looking back at him, guess what he has broken out offensively, and defensively.

Everybody always wants their team to win it all.

Kopitar looked great early in the season and is tired and or beat up now.

Doughty has played well top 6 for Canada.

Being a Kings fan is what you make it and is often of a reflection of the person more than the team.

It can be influenced by mass formation psychosis, a phenomenon, we have seen here on this board.

To be clear I am not name calling, here is an explanation.

What is Mass Formation Psychosis? Is it like Mass Hysteria or Mass Delusion? | New England Psychologist

No one cares

Wtf are you talking about?

I care and a lot of others too.

Nobody voted for you for any type of leadership position.

Always big ego's that actually believe they represent everybody or some major faction.

They don't , plenty hanging back don't say anything and a few that speak up.

People don't want to argue with the
